Edit to add my thoughts: I like this little spot alot, the baristas are always very nice and accommodating. I live over an hour away from here, so I don't get in often. FOOD: We don't get coffee here so no opinion on that. My other half likes the regular donuts, but the chocolate they use isn't her favorite. I can't tell you why, I can't eat it. They offer gluten free baked goods which are by far better than most. This is what we stop in for. I'm not sure if they are made in house but I suspect they are. What's not great is they offer too many unusual flavors and don't have much Gluten Free selection. The regular ones are more diverse. Sometimes us gluten free folks literally crave with our soul something simple or like what we used to eat before we found out they made us sick. A simple cinnamon roll, maple bar, crueller, apple fritter type thing. I was in this morning fairly early and there were plain cinnamon rolls left (thank goodness, I bought 2!) but most of what was left were chocolate and combinations of chocolate on cinnamon rolls, and baked donuts, a couple with strawberry. There were no other options. I don't consider prices, it's expensive. That's what you pay to not have to make it yourself, which I do plenty often as it is. This is a treat for me. SERVICE: The baristas are always very sweet, but every single time I've been in, I ask a question and can't hear or understand their answers. Admittedly my hearing isn't great, but I don't consistently have this issue other places. They need to speak up and speak clearly. The atmosphere is high school cafeteria. Little to no decor, only a few simple tables/chairs, white walls. There is nothing "cozy" about the vibe, though it is clean and new. This is a simple coffee shop with tasty baked goods that is fine the way it is, but has alot of potential to become a more destination location, especially for those with diet restrictions. Spokane doesn't offer much for those of us who can't eat highly processed &/or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a treat for finishing the school year, I took my two young kids to Rise Espresso & Dough Co. for the first time on Friday, June 13, 2025. We arrived during a huge rush so we stood in a long line (which is actually a good sign). We finally got to the front and ordered three donutsāone for each of us. My 8-year-old and 5-year-old each got a Reeseās bar and I got myself an apple fritter. The fritter is baked in an extra large size and I lucked out by getting the last one. The lady who took our order was enthusiastic, kind, and bubblyāI really appreciated her hospitality and her willingness to give us a water cup. The total came to $12 which is a little pricey but to be fair, that was the exact same price we paid for three donuts when we were up north a few weeks ago and visited Retro Donuts.
We ate our donuts inside the shop. It is a very clean and inviting space with durable/high quality tables. The donuts were good. I think I actually liked the kidsā Reeseās bars better than my fritter. The peanut butter icing/topping was really good and the freshness was superior. My fritter was gigantic and I was able to take half of it home to my wife. Now that the Valley Causal Friday Donuts is closed, we will definitely visit Rise again. The product is good and being served by a kind staff is always motivation for me to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is awesome and the staff is super nice! I think I donāt have a higher score because of my own personal taste. The coffee was a little bit too bitter for me (but so is Starbucks). I did really like how they put less sweetener (caramel, chocolate sauce) than other coffee stands because I donāt like my coffee sweet. I got the chocolate gluten free donut with chocolate glaze and a vanilla gluten free donut with maple glaze. They werenāt bad at all but also nothing too exciting. They also had gf cinnamon rolls so it was nice to see gluten free options at a bakery. Definitely try this place out because again I think this was just due to my...
