Breakfast at the skyway cafe in Spokane. Vegetarian at restaurants is so hard to find I usually end up with French toast and a side of hash browns.

I got the corn beef hash omelette and pancakes. Hash browns could’ve been cooked longer due to they were missing that crispy bite and they had no flavor so I added salt and pepper and they still had no taste so I resulted to adding ketchup to them and for the omelette it was alright nothing to get super excited about it could’ve used more flavor for it wasn’t to my liking. The corn beef hash in and on the omelette was pretty okay not the greatest and in my opinion there were way to many onions in it almost as if they were making up for lack of flavor with onions and I was not a fan. The restaurant and aesthetics were cool I liked the planes hanging from the ceiling and the tables and the fact you can see planes coming in and out from the windows. The staff was friendly but we did wait a while for our food to get to the table but that was probably because it was fairly busy. Overall it was cool to eat there cause the aesthetics but maybe it was just I ordered the wrong thing. Maybe I will try it again but idk if I will or not.

On Saturday, May 27, 2023, I ate breakfast at the SkyWay Café. I went with my parents and my two children. We arrived and waited about 10 minutes until a table was available for us. During that time we thoroughly enjoyed watching planes take off. Once seated we were greeted by our server. I never caught a name but she was petite, had dark hair, and had a couple of visible tattoos on her upper arms. She was incredibly nice, helpful, and attentive. I ordered the two large buttermilk pancakes as the menu definitely did them justice by calling them “large.” My parents and daughter ordered other traditional breakfast fare and it all looked delicious. I ordered my son (3 years old) the French fries off the kids menu and they were the double fried kind that are irresistible. The SkyWay Café is your classic, retro breakfast diner with an added bonus of airplane photos, models, and memorabilia all over the restaurant. It was a very historic and entertaining place to eat. We can’t wait to return.

The food was great, our waitress was even better. The part that took away from this experience was I am not sure if it was the manager or a lead person there. But a lady was really rude about the place we put our high chair. Instead of just asking to move it she over explained and talk to us like we were incompetent. We had a large group with us called and made reservations for 10 o’clock. Half of the group did not show up until 10:04. I hear the manager or the person talking over our heads to our waitress saying how if the rest of her group did not come she would have to give away our tables there are people waiting and she has got things to do. At this point, I asked if she was talking about our party. She was again very rude, I asked her if she could just give us our check because she was being nasty and making me feel very uncomfortable and I would like to leave. At that point, our waitress who was so sweet came over and reassured us that we were OK and she was just making sure we were all coming. Which I totally understand, I asked the manager or lead person what the big commotion was because it was only 1004. She then told me it was 1010, to which I then showed her my cell phone which read 1004. Seconds later, the rest of our party came. I will not be eating here again or referring it to anybody we know . The whole meal, I just felt gross. I felt on edge every time she came by and checked our table area it look like she was scouting for chairs we were using or things you were using so she could hurry and take them away. It was a very uncomfortable...

Skyway Cafe holds a special place in my heart as one of my favorite breakfast spots. Their eggs Benedict are simply divine, always cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. But what truly sets Skyway Cafe apart is its unique location at the airport.

As a plane enthusiast, I can't help but be thrilled by the sight of planes everywhere I look. Whether it's the classic DC-3, the humble Cessna 172, the sleek Vision Jet, or even the legendary SR-71 Blackbird, there's always something fascinating to see while enjoying my breakfast.

The ambiance of being at the airport adds an extra layer of excitement to the dining experience at Skyway Cafe. It's not just about the delicious food; it's about the thrill of plane watching and soaking in the unique atmosphere.

And let me tell you, the service at Skyway Cafe is so quick, it's like they're channeling the spirit of the SR-71 Blackbird! You'll be halfway through your eggs Benedict before you can say "speed of sound"!

Overall, Skyway Cafe offers not only delicious breakfast options but also an unforgettable dining experience for plane enthusiasts like myself. It's a place where I can indulge in my love for aviation while savoring a fantastic meal, making it a must-visit destination for anyone with a passion for planes...

Buddy and I met to eat breakfast and spend time catching up. Food was great and came out in a hurry. I was asked three times if I wanted a to go box; while I was still eating. I politely declined and continued visiting while eating. After 40 minutes of being at the restaurant the owner came over and put a reserved sign on our table. She said " you have been here for 1 and a 1/2 hours and people were waiting". I was by the door and noone was around other tables open etc.

We politely let the owner know we felt pushed out and she was not being kind. She replied "if you ran your own business you would understand I have to turn over tables to make money". Mind you my buddy owns his own business and I went to culinary school and worked the reataraunt industry for 8 years. Never have I seen an owner push a customer out and let them know money was more important than current customers business. Its very sad this wonderful breakfast place has started putting table turning over customer service. We used to love this place, and would recommend it to everyone.

Unfortunately their focus and service has changed. Our family and friends will...
