On Saturday, September 27, my family placed a $200+ online order with Parma Pizza at 6:18 PM for pickup at 7:18 PM. We were gathering to watch football and celebrate our niece’s homecoming, so we wanted to make it easy and support a local spot our family had been recommending.
When we arrived around 7:15, the scene was chaotic. Some employees were working hard, others were standing around, and no one seemed to be managing the order or taking ownership. Honestly, an order of that size you’d think it would be standard practice for a manager to take the lead in ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of the order. Different staff came out at different times to say they were out of certain items sometimes even asking the same questions we’d already answered. I ordered additional food to replace an unavailable paninis, but no one made any effort to ensure the order was complete or accurate.
Over the next 20 minutes, bags started appearing at the table we were waiting at. We had to open and check every one ourselves because no one on staff offered to help. After nearly 45 minutes and multiple texts from hungry family members asking where the food was, we finally took what we had and left.
When we got home, things got worse. About a third of the order was wrong. One order for two slices with pepperoni and sausage came as one slice of pepperoni and one slice of sausage. The Old Bay wings we ordered came out as buffalo. Overall, the food was decent at best. No better or worse than a national chain. My nephew called and spoke with the manager, who apologized and said he’d pass along the feedback to the owner, promising I’d get a call that week. That call never came.
As a consumer, I’m tired of being treated like this. We choose to spend our money at these businesses, and yet quality and customer service seem to have become afterthoughts. It’s all about producing a mediocre product at the maximum price. Parma Pizza came recommended by family who discovered it while visiting York College, and they’d been regulars the last several weeks, but after this experience, no more. We’ll take our business elsewhere and hope to find a place that still values quality and...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite place to get pizza and subs, for years everything about this place was great. Sadly that is not true anymore. They have an option to place an order for a specific time which is what I did, I placed my order at 6pm for a 8pm pickup. I arrived 2 minutes before scheduled time and the place was almost completely empty. There were 3 guys and a female in the back, all just standing around, 2 of the guys were flirting with the female and the others looked out of it, no one even acknowledged me. So I politely but aggressively said, "Hello!! Can I get some service?", after getting eyeballed and some comments in I assume was Spanish someone comes and asks "what do u want", to which I replied my name and the order I had placed, by this time it was 2 minutes past the time I set for pickup which is no big deal I'm not impatient, but I was told it would be another 15 minutes as I watched them just starting my pizza. So I ordered a cannoli for while I waited, it was pulled out of a box in the freezer and given to me frozen, the guy literally tossed it on the counter and mumbled something as he walked, I'm pretty sure he called me a F'ing a hole but I can't be sure so I let it slide. It took 22 minutes from the time I was told 15 until I got my food. I also pre tipped which I will never in my life do again. The pizza was very sloppy, pepperoni was only on about 2/3 of the pizza, and the box had grease leaking through the bottom. My fries were way overdone and tasted like week old grease. The sub was supposed to be no tomatoes no onion, it had both on, along with a massive amount of mayo, pretty sure it was on purpose but again I'm not sure so I won't accuse. The whole environment was uncomfortable, and the woman in the back getting constantly hit on by 2 different guys looked like she hated life. In general this place has went down hill massively over the last year or so, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy and I will never return to any of...
Read moreSuper solid pizza joint. I have been here probably close to a hundred times cause I live a block away. They have some very creative pizzas the one I tried once was like 2 inches thick with a pretzel crust and loaded with an absolutely obscene amount of Italian meats. The whole I time I was eating it me and my son were both like “this is absolutely disgusting there must be 2,000 calories per slice but it my god it tastes sooooooo good”. During the beginning of the COVID shutdown they delivered everyone in the neighborhood a free pizza and that was so nice like that always stuck with me I love these guys so much.
I only have one suggestion… the cheesesteaks are really good I’ve ordered them probably a dozen times, but the fried onions are not nearly cooked enough it’s like mostly raw onions you gotta fully carmelize them getting bite of raw onion in a cheesesteak is unpleasant. Also the pepper relish should always go on the bread under the meat where it blends nicely with the mayonaise. You guys always put the pepper relish on top of the meat at the end which means every time I take a bite my lips get covered in hot pepper relish and it burns and some falls off the sandwich. Anyways other than that completely flawless I’ve ordered literally everything on the menu in the 7 years I’ve lived next to this place. All the love to parma pizza...
