We used to love coming to this place and have recommended it to several friends. Unfortunately, we will never be back. My bf and I stopped in for dinner. There were only 2 other couples in the place and we waited in the foyer while the hostess/server ate her dinner at the counter and scrolled through her phone, completely oblivious to us standing there. Finally, a gentleman from one of the other couples whistled to get her attention and pointed to us, and she finally came over to seat us.
They no longer have the complimentary family roll they serve when you sit down. That shouldâve been a sign that something changed here, likely with management. We ordered one anyway and it came after our meals, though I watched it sit in the window while, again, our waitress sat on her phone and eating at the counter. I ordered the filet mignon hibachi and the bf ordered chicken hibachi. I donât believe my steak was a filet mignon due to the chewiness and toughness and both meats were severely over cooked. Neither of us touched our food. When we asked the waitress about this, she merely said the cook was new and âin training.â Didnât offer to recook or replace or anything. Just took our full plates away. She brought the check and we were shocked that each of our meals were somewhere near $6 more on our bill than on the menu. My bf got up to grab a menu and the waitress tried to stop him! âOh you donât need that, it doesnât matter what that says, itâs old!â She said they recently raised their prices and the new menus have been ordered but havenât come in yet. (Most places just hand write the new prices in the old menus when this happens, not underhandedly blindside the customers after theyâve eaten, or in our case havenât really eaten.)
I told her I wasnât going to pay these prices and idve never ordered that meal had I known the drastic price increase, forget the fact we didnât really eat anything anyway. She argued with us and then called the owner on her cell phone who SCREAMED at us that heâs been hit hard by the pandemic and then told us never to come back!
OkâŚ
Itâs a shame because this was our go-to spot for sushi and hibachi. We never once complained about anything with this place in the past but this experience left us never wanting to come back, even if we were still welcome.
Hope new management takes over to...
Read moreI would HIGHLY recommend skipping out. I ordered a roll, which had hair in it. Then I took a recommendation roll from SAVANNAH (the manager) which tasted like straight garbage. I told her I did not like it and she took it back. Normally, when that happens the roll gets taken off of the bill. Which was not the case. Savannah said âwe canât accommodate based off of personal opinionâ and charged my card. When i asked to speak to a manager, she said âiâm a managerâ. I tried explaining to her that, that is not guest etiquette and she shouldâve been more thorough, instead of knowing it wouldâve been an issue and had another worker drop the check off then ignore me for FIFTEEN MINUTES, which is what made the whole situation worse. She charged my card anyway when I thought she knew I didn't want it charged. I then asked for a contact of someone above her and with her entitled attitude, she said âno one is my bossâ so i asked for the owners contact and she said heâs not affiliated with the restaurant, but he owns it???? how much stupidity does that sound like, when I know heâs been in multiple times. She constantly stated she runs the place, and sheâs final say but acted stupid when I asked who hired her and who she reports to. Again, I would highly recommend skipping out on this restaurant. Instead of telling me I would get charged anyway and should pick someone else (which i would have knowing i was going to get charged) she said okay and didnât explain, LIKE A MANAGER SHOULD. Then, after I asked for an accommodation for the money i paid that i did not eat with. AND SHE SAID NO while refusing to get me her bossâs information because he âisnât affiliatedâ with the restaurant and she âruns itâ and he doesnât have a business email or phone number. I honestly hope he sees this review so he can see the amount of unprofessionalism that occurred today. & I hope anyone who reads this decides on a different sushi restaurant because clearly a âmanagerâ is abusing her power. Very unprofessional and should probably think about going back to school and getting...
Read moreSo I had the sushi regular which came with a California roll. I changing the roll to the Boston roll. Dollar up charge which is to be expected at any sushi restaurant. Also order the pork Goya fried. Meal came with soup and salad. Let's start with service, I can not find anything wrong. One person doing the front the orders and service. She was on point hard working person here. The food came out at right amount of wait time and if took extra minute or so not a big deal. Now I like sushi and have been spoiled by local UmI in Stafford Virginia, I seat at the counter and you talk with the chief you learn a lot. Ok back to the food. Sushi regular and pork Goza was good. The lettuce was a texture thing for me and it didn't sit with me. I'm from out of state so maybe it's state thing not sure. Now I told my server everything was fine and she was ok even after seeing me no eat the Boston roll. I just said the lettuce was not right to me and she took it off and gave me 10% discount. I was like WOW not expecting that all. That plays big to me when a server takes time to do this. I would Recommend coming here and trying out the sushi. I would come back...
