Palomino's Mexican & Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Spring Valley

My family and I frequent this place quite often because for the taste and price you can’t beat it however after this evening I will no longer take the extra time to drive across town to eat here! We called in our order after driving by our first choice and it being packed and not wanting to wait forever for taco shop. When we called in, per usual, I had to repeat myself twice and both times I told the woman no pico! She repeated back the order leaving out the path another the no pico on the burrito and the pico on the side for my kids fries. My children dealer with the mistake but I am allergic to tomatoes which is why we ask about how the prep the avocado and to always exclude the pico! We tried to call back about the mistake but the line was busy for a good 10 minutes so my husband made the drive back only to have the cashier (Vero) be extremely rude to him about the mistake and argue with him about fixing it! If I’m paying 9 bucks a burrito these days I expect it to be made at least the way I order it! It’s not the first time this place has made this mistake, they do it quite often actually but after the poor customer service and the way we were both spoken to when trying to discuss this problem was appalling and apparently they don’t have management there to report anything toor at least that’s what I was told... once again worst experience I...

It is so tough for me to give five stars to any taco shop nowadays since the prices are so ridiculously high. So I'm happy to say this place definitely deserves it. The prices are about the same as they are at most taco shops in San Diego county but the food noticeably better. Which means a lot, vouch for me locals, considering nowadays it's hard to tell the difference, in taste, from most of them. That being said, for a "Taco Shop" the flavors are on point. Especially the California burrito which if you're familiar with "El Azteca" in La Mesa, it's the same ginormous size as the breakfast burrito that they're famous for. Believe it or not? Authentic, cultural atmosphere. Good portions. Good price. Pretty good quality compared to shops of it's calibre. Most locals are aware that a lot of taco shops aren't too far from another in terms of how good they are. There's too many here that are long time features of the SD culinary landscape so most shops over 5 or 10 years old are legit. You'll also find out that each has a particular menu item that is significantly better than the competition too. This one is definitely the spot for surf n' turf fries in the rancho SD area hands down. Consistently good in my experience. El Toro off Meadowbrook offers better surf n turf, but not as consistently. They also offer beer and wine so come with an appetite and leave with an altogether...
