Samurai Hibachi & Sushi Express — Restaurant in Springdale Township

We have now been here at Samurai for about an hour. Granted they are new. They have only been open for 3 days. But we have been at our table for about 30-45 minutes, have ordered but have only received our Vegetable Rolls. Well, that and someone else's dinner, which was then taken back and then delivered to the next table. They didn't like that very much. Now they just brought my wife and I the wrong order. We both ordered the Hibachi Chicken Noodle and were brought the Hibachi Chicken which comes with Rice instead of Noodles. Also we were told either Soup or Salad, neither of which we have seen. My wife ordered the Onion 🧅 soup and I ordered the salad 🥗 with Vinegar. Now we are told that our meal comes with both soup and salad and the salad only comes with Ginger.

Our dinner finally has arrived, correct this time. Basically an hour and a half after we arrived. It's okay, nothing I would be going out of my way to come for again. I am not a Sushi 🍣 guy so I can't rate their Sushi. The Onion Soup 🍲 was outstanding! The salad was just not good.

Overall I say this place will trend for a while. Their service needs a ton of work and help. The server we had is young and obviously very inexperienced. He just kept bringing the wrong orders to the wrong tables.

All new places have growing pains but tonight you could feel them for real. Long wait for a table, no taking names, kind of chaotic until an adult came out and took charge. Longer wait for food, got the wrong order placed in front of my husband and good thing he didn't touch it, the young man came back and said it was the wrong order, walked away with it and turned around and served it to another customer after he left it at our table. Pretty sure that is a health code violation, we got the wrong hot food delivered before our soup and salad, had to ask where those were. Finally got our food, watched them deliver the wrong food twice to the table next to ours but before they got their right food, someone delivered their check to them. They have much to iron out. A rare find for a small town like Harrisburg. Having grown up in Orange county CA with unlimited sushi options you end up being rather picky about your California roll. Samurai is one of the better hole in the wall locations. They are new, so give them some grace. The 5 star review is due to good service, a pleasant/clean environment and flavorful food.

I was surprised to find the California roll quite enjoyable. There are few places here in SD that knows how to make sushi rice correctly. Samurai has the correct consistency and flavor.
