El Taco — Restaurant in Springfield

So I’ll be honest.... we pull into the gas station and my husband immediately started talking smack about how it’s a gas station and I agreed saying “well we will all be fighting over the toilet tomorrow...😬) Then we were worried because we just spent 60$ for our giant family of 6- which when I ordered from their super convenient online ordering system I thought was pretty great for the amount of food- but then it’s a marathon.... so we figured well we already paid we might as well. So on the way home I looked at their ratings, because let’s face it- 60$ is a lot.... and I see they have pretty much all 5 star ratings! The first one I see basically says don’t let the gas station fool you it’s pretty great.. the only reasons I saw lower ratings were wait times and being closed on Sunday. So I felt better. We get home and un pack our food and I can say WE WILL DEFINITELY be back. It was really great. This is not what you would expect by pulling into a marathon, and if you’re skeptical or worried because you just spent money and you’re driving home with your husband complaining about the place you chose being gas station food- tell him he will eat those words when he gets home and sees the meat to burrito ratio is way more then what he would have expected. I found this place on google and before trying it out, I read the reviews. Unfortunately this place is not made out to be what other reviews have said it to be. When I walked in, the cooks were eating for food and using their phones with gloves on. I placed my order and then watched the same cooks attempt to cook my food without changing gloves or even washing their hands. When I asked the boy who took my order to have the cooks wash their hands and exchange gloves while prepping my food, he responded, “No, you tell them, they’re the owners, it’s just food”. He continued to give me attitude as I tried to educate him on food safety and handling guidelines. I do not...

So I felt like this restaurant was not the best. Felt like it was meh at best. Tortillas and chips tasted store bought. The flavor of the chicken tacos was pretty good. The Bierra and steak tacos were a bit disappointing. I had really been looking to trying them.

A big part of what decreased my satisfaction was the price. For the price you should get better quality and quantity. It was too expensive for what you get. Ive tried them two or three times and each time was disappointed and didnt think I got what I paid for. So unfortunately, ill no...
