Good place to go food getting smaller ones getting smaller Burgers getting smaller portions getting smaller and ice cream they just do not take pride in at all anymore. I don't understand why if there's corporate headquarters next door if you can't even get a Sunday that you can actually see the ice cream in the silver dish with the face on top if it has one and the whip cream not already melted by the time you get it? I'm 35 I worked there when I was 16 and I stayed till I was like 18 and I made killer tips but we made our own salads and we made our own milkshakes and we made our own Sundays and you know what? that made all the difference. I just want to tell the people they are like why don't you guys do something and feel good and hook people up once in awhile????????????????????? And I'm not referring to giving way too much to customers and taking away from the franchise I'm talking about being honest and doing it the old Friendly's way because I thought that's why you guys don't have rights anymore because you wanted a burger and Fry place well you guys need other things there why don't you have other things that would make it better like breakfast all day with waffles you know? If you're open till 11 o'clock at night you guys would make a killing and you're missing it all and the people that work there take pride in your job if you're going to work at Friendly's in your late twenties and thirties and forties then take pride and get someone to smile once in awhile by giving them what they paid for and what they asked for not a face like that when they see the ice cream they'd been looking forward to but a smile and a thank you and maybe you'd get better tips because I used to clear $100 in tonight at searstown mall easily and I made all my own wraps we did on my tables made their drinks made their milkshakes made their ice creams and made their salads. What are you making because we don't tip really really good for people that don't make good ice cream and just like the last time we were there two weeks ago can you please please make the ice creams to go because we have to get going we have to meet some people and it wasn't for a happy event so we had to take her ice creams to go so we ask them to please put the whipped cream on last and please give us some extra whipped cream do you think we got extra whipped cream? And they could have charged us and they didn't put the man last they put it on First and put it in a cooler or let it sit on the counter and when we got it it was super early and all we did was pay our check and leave as soon as they told us it was ready so I just think you guys should be ashamed of yourselves I love you because all of you are doing it and you know who you are and it's freaking horrible. Put a smile on a kid's face and give them what their parents paid for. And bring back the rice and stop with the whole the big scoop is the same as two scoops of ice cream because it's not and it's getting out of control and the small is extremely small but the medium is too much so why don't you just meet halfway in the middle and make an ice cream the way you used to back in the day and keep the Friendly's name alive because this is pitiful. And I still go to Friendly's all the...
Read moreFirst we waited too long to be seated, there was nobody ahead of us. After we placed the order (burger w/fries appetizer sampler) The waitress asked me if I wanted cheese on the hamburger I'd ordered, I said no. (I didn't order a cheeseburger) no big deal.
She then leaves and heads to kitchen to put order in. The other person at my table realizes the waitress never asked what he wanted IN the sampler order. He briefly looked for her then got up and hurried to the front to correct the order. Why/how would you put an order in not knowing what was supposed to be on it anyway? So I'm glad he straightened that out.
Several minutes (too many minutes) later, were waiting for our food a girl approached the table holding the appetizer assortment, confirms it was the sampler and sets it down. OOOOOPS, not what he ordered on this plate. Before he can find our waitress, SHE approaches holding a different plate, the correct plate. She apologizes and takes the first one away.
Several minutes pass and he says "I'm not gonna eat my food while you watch, she should have brought us both our plates" I agree, she should have, but told him to eat anyway before it got cold.
So halfway through his meal, mine comes out. Finally. She sets it down and tells me to be careful, it's very hot. I think to myself, YUM, It's fresh. It's caked with cheese, but I'm not waiting for another, so I remove the top if the roll and remove the cheese. Underneath the cheese, my burger is cut clean in half. Huh????
Seriously, the COOK didn't know how long to COOK a burger? And then covered it up with extra cheese, that I specifically said I DIDN'T want?
I did complain to my waitress and said that the cook would end up costing her tips if she kept messing up. Sadly, my waitress said she was the manager.
I wasn't charged for the burger, but I won't be back.
This is NOT the Friendly's I remember, things have deteriorated, and literally RIGHT next door to the main plant....
Read moreHow do you have a 2.2 star review on Yelp and continue to offer poor customer service? I'm not sure if These 1300 Google reviews are just for this restaurant or Friendly's in general but mine is meant for the one on Boston Road in Springfield right next to their corporate headquarters. I ordered lunch for a client of mine today for me to pick up... It was for seven people so not overly large and there may have been two or three tables taken in the restaurant at the time so not busy and you could look into the kitchen and see that that was not being strained for takeout as the 4-5 people working were not occupied. Both the chef and whoever packed the order missed one of the $15 munchy manias of the four that I ordered. It was on the receipt so how does that happen? Especially when you're sporting a 2.2 stars. Whoever is in charge over there doesn't seem to have protocols in place to change the narrative. Receipt should be checked off as the order is being cooked and then again as the order is packed... Pretty simple process. The food was good but I did not enjoy the extra 35 minutes of driving and a customer without a meal. When I went back to the restaurant, the girl simply apologized. I was expecting her to offer to comp the meal or offer some free coupons for Sundays or something like that...NOTHING! I'm a reasonable person when it comes to the service industry as I deal with them all the time. I wasn't gonna yell at anybody or anything like that but when she simply apologized without offering any real customer service, I simply stated "yeah... Not sure how both the cook and the person packing missed something on the receipt but you may want to look into that" and I left. One of the worst parts about it is it is literally right next-door to their corporate headquarters...
