Mary´s Country Kitchen — Restaurant in Springfield

I am literally sitting in this little country kitchen writing this review. It’s nothing fancy, there’s no view, BUT this place is amazing. The staff are friendly, and so are the customers. When your from Boston your accent really stands out in the south, local customers heard us talking and started conversations. Very friendly and welcoming place. The cheese burger basket was better than those $25 hamburgers you get in fancy restaurants. I got mine with tater tots. The club sandwich was delicious as were the French fries done right. Wonderful stop on the road today. Googled this place each time we are headed to NC. But usually they are closed. Today we saw a line at the take out window & got good reviews from those waiting. But I went inside & saw a clean & inviting sitting atea. My order was taken by a smiling young lady that offered a greeting. we got Fresh HOT Fried Chicken, crispy & golden on the outside and juicy on the inside. Green beans & Lima beans were fresh & hot Next time I will try the Hamburger but we had only a few minutes to stop. An older building so the restroom was small but decent & had plenty of soap & paper towels. We will visit Mary's country...

I have passed through Springfield, SC many times since 1998. Yesterday was my firat time stopping and wow....I have been missing out! The fish sndwich combo was absolutely fantastic, and it was priced much less than expected. The customer service was great! The bun was fresh and the filet was hot. The seasoned fries were some of the best too.I also met Ms. Mary when I asked about the lady on the sign...surprised! If you pass through Springfield, SC, do the speed limit and stop at Mary's.
