The dining area is usually clean. Bathrooms are clean. Plenty seating. Lots of free parking. The food is good. They claim to have the best fish in town and best breakfast but I beg to differ. The breakfast is literally a standard breakfast made with the cheapest ingredients. Lol No breakfast "specials", except during St. Patrick's. Their fish and chips are just regular, greasy, fish and chips. It is a nice large piece of haddock and is priced well. No special seasoning. Similar to most places that sell fish. Daily lunch specials and their prices are very reasonable and portioned well. I love that most of their dishes are made from scratch and that the vegetables are all fresh and not frozen or canned. Their soups are my favorite. They are all made from scratch. The only thing I really avoid eating here is anything with red sauce because it's extremely acidic. It literally burns my tongue and throat. I think it's because it's made using very low grade, canned spaghetti sauce. My favorite things to eat here are their Shepherd's Pie, their whole belly clams, and their soups. Most of the staff are nice. My favorite cook and server is Leslie. Leslie is very experienced, takes a lot of care and has attention to detail with your orders. She's super sweet and has great customer service skills. I just wish they extended their lunch hours. They close the kitchen at 2:30 or 3:00 pm most days, except Friday. They have a beautiful wooden bar top. I don't like to drink cocktails here because I get random $3 charges with my drinks. One time I was charged an additional $3 for "rocks" which the bartender said was for the ice in my shot. Shots should all be measured the same, on or off the rocks so there should be no need for an additional $3 charge for ice. Another time I was charged an additional $3 for a "tall" which I was told was for the glass cup they served my cocktail in, which I never asked to have my drink served in nor was I asked if I wanted a "tall" glass cup. I don't like the sneaky pricing so I won't drink here. They have Keno. Pictures below are corn chowder, Cold Salad, and Shepherd's Pie (all amazing).

This place was suggested to us by someone local for a quick meal. The place is clean and the service was super quick and friendly. The meatloaf was enormous and well cooked and served with old school mashed and gravy and properly cooked carrots. Nothing super fancy, but all of it was well cooked and very tasty. We are now planning to return again when we are in the area again to try the fish and chips too ! Plenty of parking, easy access if you are disabled, awesome food and great prices !

I love coming here. It a good place to grab a bit and have a few Guinness or whatever you like to drink! Everyone is friendly and service is great! From the road it is unassuming but inside its a great place! The bar area is the largest section, and there is tables as well as the bar you can utilize. There is a small area with tables as well. There is an area for off street parking out back. A great place just to hang! Check it out!

Decided to try this place out because snack bar was closed. The service was great, I forget her name but she was very nice. I ordered hot chocolate, 3 eggs with meat and home fries and toast. Hot chocolate: delicious, tastes like a hot chocolate packet which is what I wanted. The eggs: I ordered over medium and they were almost perfect. By the last egg I noticed it was black underneath. Looks like from whatever pan they used so I didn't finish it. Maybe get a new pan or clean it, not sure if it was the pan material or just a used pan. I got ham as my meat and it was good. A little thin but tasted good. The toast was delicious! Best part of the meal. The home fries? Immediately no. Half were still uncooked and they don't season them which would be fine cause they do have salt and pepper at the table and ketchup. But I just didn't enjoy them. I had high hopes for this place because they've got carpet and the tables look super used and are slightly coming apart. If you don't like much seasoning or fully cooked potatoes, this is the place for you! We won't be back but enjoyed the...

We are from out of town visiting son who lives locally. Arrived at 11:45am after a change of venue and sat at bar waiting for the rest of our party for breakfast. fabulous first responder atmosphere, appropriate music however, we were rudely approached by a bartender "m." My boyfriend ordered a diet Coke and rudely she corrected him say they didn't have that. He asked about diet Pepsi and she goffed. When our party arrived we were amazed to hear there was another part of the restaurant that served food. We told our bartender we'd like to settle up and she said that we could with the server at the diner portion of the establishment. When we settled in, found that they don't serve breakfast which our party members was interested in and sadly had to leave. After our big order of 1 pineapple juice and 1 diet Pepsi, our server went to "m" and came back with a $12 bill for the 2 drinks. "M" was rude. Our server was a sweet gal we tipped for the trouble. If ever in the area again, I will definitely avoid this corner. "M" was a real put-off, and bad...
