Route 66 Diner — Restaurant in Springfield

While in the area working today, I found this nostalgic looking diner and made a last-minute decision to give them a call and order a breakfast sandwich. It almost didn't happen because I had a limited amount of time available, but the gentleman I spoke with made it happen for me. He was a nice guy and very accommodating. The woman that greeted me when I walked in was great too. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on a hard roll. It was a little bit greasy, but not bad. The only knock on the experience/place was the pricing. $8.00 for a sandwich is definitely on the high side. Actually, I have never paid so much for one of these anywhere, ever. Good news is I no longer feel bad about the places I've gone to that charged me just over $5.00 for a breakfast sandwich... The place was very busy. First time to this little diner. Pass it al the time but never been for some reason. Boy have we missed out. It is true diner dining. Seats are kinda small but they have bar seating as well. There are jukeboxes at the tables which was cute and unexpected in this day and age. It was relatively clean, but the place was very busy when we arrived so thats to be expected. Tried this place for the 1st time the other day and wasnt impressed the food was just ok but the real issue was while I sat there and waited for my order I I literally seen every cook in the back eattin at 1 point either while they were cook and/or around the area where they were cooking!
