I have been telling myself to remember to go here, since I was a young girl. I think possibly this place has been around as long as I have, maybe even longer!!! I am ashamed, I just never think of it. I finally remembered & went! I am SO sad I didn't go sooner, because the place is adorable, the food was mouth wateringly awesome, the Waitress was beyond sweet, the Cook was so friendly & personable & the food portions were huge! My SIL ordered Chicken strips & Onion Rings & she let me try a Ring. That was the freshest Onion Ring I have ever had from the West Coast to the East Coast & back. Not at all greasy either. When I bit into it, the entire onion didn't slide out either, which always displeases me & happens at every single other place I have tried them. My bite was crunchy, sweet, oniony & perfect! I savored every bite of that Onion Ring, let me tell ya! Her Chicken Strips were the size of boats, no joke, the biggest thickest Chicken strips I have ever seen. She said they were the best she'd ever had as well & she is a total Chicken Strip connoisseur! I ordered the Junior Cheese Burger with non crispy Fries. I always ask for my Fries that way. Before our order came, our waitress brought 3 big squeeze bottles over, 1 ranch, 1 thousand island & 1 ketchup. That was cool. When the waitress brought our food over, which didn't take long at all, considering that they were quite busy with obvious regular customers; she apologized profusely stating they put 2 of the 1/6 lb patties on my Cheeseburger instead of just one patty, because their patty supplier brought them the wrong patties. How cute was that? My Junior Cheeseburger was absolute perfection, with all the trimmings! The patties were super delish, no weird gristle or grease. My Fries were done just the way I asked for them to be. The food, atmosphere & folks here are so nice & the food so great, that I have been talking about it since. I tried the Ranch & the Fry Sauce (1000 Island) & both were beyond yummy. I want to go back & try everything on the menu, but my waistline would hate me. I plan to go once or twice a month, until I get to try everything. Oh & I ordered a bowl of Potato Cheese Soup to go & WOWWWWWWW it was fantastic! I wish I had have been going here all along over the years! Thank you Snack Shack for existing! You...
Read moreI had heard of this place before, so when I drove past, I decided it was time to try it.
The first thing that caught my attention was the guy at the front counter. His customer service skills were ON POINT! His enthusiasm was infectious, and he demonstrated how much he cared about every single customer that came in the door while I was there. But even more than that, he kept the customers feeling like they mattered even while they waited for their food, rather than just while they ordered.
While waiting, I had asked how the clam chowder was. He told me it was amazing, of course. Little did I know, he had served me up some to try. I didn't find out about that until AFTER I decided to tip 50%, just because of his excellent customer service skills (and before I even tried the food!) He was super thankful and indicated the container of soup he had dished out for me before he even knew I would tip him, and we had a good laugh.
My order was to go. I had decided to try a double Western Bacon Cheeseburger this time, with the regular fries. But the clam chowder called to me and I had to try it.
I am very picky about clam chowder and make a point to try it every place I can. I was AMAZED, it was some of the best clam chowder I have ever had. I'll need to do a taste test with my top two over on the coast now.
When I got to the burger and fries, it just confirmed for me that this place is amazing. Toasted buns, excellent tasting barbecue sauce, meat with wonderful flavor, delicious onion rings, and fries that were delicious and perfectly cooked.
Not only will I be going back, I'll be taking as many people there to try it as I can. I was excited to finish eating just so I could write this review. The customer service won my heart, and the food won my...
Read moreCraving a burger and giant burger was closed so I gave this place a go for take out. I will say the lady taking orders was so so so nice and good at her job, the assumed owner who gave me a refund was very sweet also. My issue is not with them at all. I have worked restaurants for 8 years so I was not sure why the cook sent out the burger I ordered. It was very burnt, to the point the cheese was charred black and just fell off whenever I touched it. I would’ve much rather preferred to be told “hey he accidentally burnt it, it’s just gonna be an extra moment for it to be remade” than to have opened up the container to see this. It honestly killed my appetite. I would’ve gave them a shot a remake, but I had to get to work and didn’t have time. The time it took me to drive the few blocks home, discover this, come back for a refund and then drive to work.. if the cook had just admitted it was burned and remade it I could’ve enjoyed the burger I was craving before work. I tried to at least pay for my soda, Plus I wanted to leave a tip for the lady who tried to make it right. They said to not worry about it. I’m not sure if I’ll give this place another go, I hope if I do I have a better experience. I’m reluctant because this burger was OBVIOUSLY burned and he sent it out to go anyways. To me, that seems dishonest.. I know he boxed it and the lady upfront didn’t see it before it went out so again, my problem is with the cook. I also felt he started acting passive aggressive onced he noticed I was back unhappy about my food. It was a little uncomfortable. I really hate leaving this review because the ladies were sweet… but this was all around...
