I purchased a 12 pack of cookies that came with Chocolate chip, s'mores, snickerdoodle, and brownies. They all had this weird chalk like aftertaste. I couldn't even swallow the snickerdoodle it like disintegrated in my mouth. Cookies were very flat and not much to them at all. Yes they are "big", but still need some thickness to a cookie. Brownie was not good. It tasted dry and stale. Overall I was very disappointed and surprised at how many people reviewed that this was the best cookie they ever had. *Edited to take off a comment that was not necessary. I hope that the business takes time to listen to all reviews and improve their product. I will definitely buy again to try if I see that they reformulate their recipe a bit.
**Edit #2, which I wasn't going to add, but since the company decided to respond I will respond back through this edit. Yes I own a dedicated gluten free bakery and have for the last 6ish years. However, I enjoy ordering treats for myself from dedicated gluten free facilities that I didn't have to bake. I saw the ad on Facebook, did some quick research and saw the amazing reviews - so I bought. My bakery email automatically filled in instead of my personal one. They reached out and called me a competitor (which I am not, I'm located in Wisconsin and have no intention of starting to ship my products). They also accused me of putting on a bad review because I'm a competitor. Once again - not true, the product was not good. Then, they requested that I remove the review. As a consumer I appreciate reading real reviews and seeing how companies respond to the poor reviews - that tells me a lot about a company. A simple statement apologizing for the product not being what they expected is good. But, to tell me to remove my review, it makes me think that they have since asked all poor reviews to remove their bad review because they are a small business and know how important google review are. Yes I own a small business, yes I know how important google reviews are. However, I will never ask my customers to remove a review because they received product that wasn't good, and they cannot recommend me. Instead, I would figure out WHY and try to make it right. I think this is an important part of being an educated buyer and also a very important part of owning a business. Does my business have bad reviews? Yep, it does. Have I ever asked them to remove it, even though sometimes it hurt? Nope. Never. Instead, I took it as an experience to have a conversation and what that person didn't like about it and created better products. I do realize I could have emailed. But, I really felt duped by all of the good reviews out there with not a single one being bad. With that many good reviews and not a single negative one I expected a far better product than...
Read moreAs someone with Celiac I have tried many different packaged cookies that mostly tasted like saw dust mixed with chocolate pieces, that come in large packages containing a handful of small cookies. I wanted a go-to cookie that I could have as a treat and feel like it’s a real treat, that I could take with me or eat at home. I happened upon an ad for GOOD HOPE BAKERY. I’ve seen ads before and had such high hopes only to be disappointed, not only in taste, quality and quantity, but in how long it took to deliver. I watched one of the Good Hope videos where the SMORES cookie was featured and I knew I HAD to at least try that. In about a week my order arrived. I bought a 12 pack, go big or go home, right? Each cookie was about the size of your palm. Right away different from all the others. Individually wrapped, great if you want to take it with you, check, check, now is it good? I opened one up and took a bite, and OMG, it was amazing!!!! I felt like I was cheating. The marshmallows made it gooey, large chocolate chunks gave it an amazing chocolatey taste, and the cookie itself held together well, altogether tasting AMAZING. I’ve eaten them as they are, but when we’re dishing up dessert at the house, I get one of my cookies out and I put a scoop of ice cream on top and I’m eating dessert just like everyone else. I absolutely love these cookies. I’ve already ordered another 12 pack. If you’ve been hunting for that go-to treat, you should seriously try these!!!! I absolutely love...
Read moreUpdate: customer service was awesome and send me new sugar cookies because mine were ruined in transport. The sugar cookie was better but I think it was still too gummy for my liking. My mom loved it though so I think that’s just preference at this point. I also froze the other 2 cookies which helped return the moisture lost from the intense heat from transport and when they thawed they were soft and chewy. S’mores was my favorite by far!
Ugh I hate not writing 100% positive reviews but reading all the 5 star reviews got my expectations so high. I order 3 different ones, the sugar cookie, the Oreo cookie, and the s’mores cookie. Let’s start with the positives— they arrived fast, the cookies (with the exception of the sugar cookie) are HUGE, I’m strict celiac and they are celiac safe, in general the cookies are good. The negatives—my sugar cookies all came smashed. I don’t know if I just got a dud batch of sugar cookies but they seemed undercooked (which might be your thing) so they didn’t hold their shape at all. I wasn’t a fan of the undercooked texture. And then my only negatives with the other two is that they were super dry when I got them and I was soooo excited for them to be chewy. I would like to preface, it’s been so hot this week (105 degrees) so maybe that was the problem, they just dried out...
