What a great meal last night.
The craft cocktail pictured was their signature drink. I forgot the name but it was good looking and tasty.
Both bread appetizers were off the chart. The romano baguette cheese was a toasted Italian sourdough loaf with oregano and olive oil. The cheese was light and had a delicate flavor and all flavors on the app shined perfectly. No Albertsons bread here.
The hot crab bruschetta with garlic butter and jumbo lump crab meat was on a toasted baguette with tomato and basil. Like I said a hit.
The voodoo shrimp (blackened gulf shrimp) had an excellent blackening seasoning (the salt was like pop rocks) and served over a sweet and spicy Ponchatoula strawberry pepper jelly.
The redfish Lafitte (pan seared gulf red fish) with jumbo lump crab meat had braised spinach and citrus beurre Blanc. This was a great dish.
The steak and cake was a filet mignon paired with chesapeake style crabcake with fries. The crab cake was good but not overly impressive. The tartar sauce was very good. The steak was good.
The block island scallops were very good but the creamy Parmesan risotto I thought was bland. The grilled asparagus was standard fare. The redstick crawfish veloute was like a dip augratin type of thing which was good.
The tortellini Angelia (cheese filled pasta) with gumbo jumbo shrimp and blistered tomatoes in a garlic Chardonnay butter. This was very good!!
The small whole fried okra was very good
The bread pudding was off the chart. The texture was more like a custard and the blueberry rum sauce was rock solid.
The cheese cake was also a hit. Sweet and light, not dense with a homemade graham cracker crust.
The flourless chocolate cake was...
Read moreI booked the inn for a weekend getaway (almost like a staycation since it was close enough) for me and my wife. The inn was very elegantly renovated that helped bring it up to date while also maintaining the beautiful features of the building that you only see in older properties these days. The exterior was gorgeous and relaxing in the chairs on the front porch looking out at the Lousiana The check in process was smooth and easy. We were shown our room by the owner and given the rundown of the property and things to do including a dinner recommendation of the Greek restaurant next door since our reservation for the inn's restaurant wasn't until the next night. We walked over to Greek restaurant and it was authentic and good-tasting (very convenient as well since we didn't have to drive again). The following day, we relaxed in the pool and met some of the other guests while drinking a delicious inn specialty cocktail. This was quite nice for the Louisiana weather is so humid and hot. That Saturday night, we ate at the inn's restaurant and it was DELICIOUS. From the inn's specialty cocktail to the appetizers, the main entres, and dessert...everything was perfect! I believe the bartender's name was Alex, but she really knew how to mix a drink and she taste tested with a clean spoon every time which showed the pride in her work. If you stay at the inn or even if you don't, you should eat at their restaurant!
Last thing I would like to comment on his the courtesy of the owner. They always found time to talk to us and make sure everything was to our liking. I can't appreciate that level of service enough. Thank you and we will...
Read moreMy husband and I had a delightful stay at the Inn for our anniversary. We actually live quite close by and when we decided to have a staycation this year since we've been traveling quite a bit, the St. Francisville Inn was top of my list. The Inn is beautiful decorated while being cozy, relaxed and inviting. An aire of whimsy runs through the decor which made me smile often. Our room was lovely and nicely appointed. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds with their moss-covered trees and around the town and taking a dip in the pool. Our dinner was truly exceptional. Chef Michael knocked in outta the park! Romano Bagette and Voodoo Shrimp appetizers. Filet Mignon and Sensation Salad main course. Blueberry Bread Pudding for desert. Everything we ordered was absolutely delish. And then there was a yummy breakfast the next morning with homemade biscuit, bacon, eggs and cheese grits. Also great conversation with other guests, both local and distant. I hated missing the owners, Jim and Brandon who were in France. But Brad, Ms Shirley, Cecile and the rest of the staff took awesome are of us. I highly recommend the Inn for overnight stays! Also enjoy a fabulous meal of the restaurant for your...
