I've heard nothing but good things about this place but in my opinion it's just ok and I've had better. The prices are outrageous. A half order of Special Fried Rice is $7.00; ridiculous and certainly not worth the price. The Crab Rangoon is expensive also and kind of bitter. If the food was really good, price wouldn't matter as much, but the price along with the "just ok" taste....no thank you. Just another hole in the wall Chinese place....nothing spectacular! I won't be going back.

First time visiting. Best “Boneless” Hot Braised I’ve ever had in the Lou. I’ve had better/hotter flavor, but the crunchy batter boneless chicken is on point for $10.25.

The chicken is dry, well very dry. It cost too much money. Egg roll kitchen for example is cheap and delicious.

In the majority of these restaurant/Chinese....what's to be expected but you either call your order in before you go, or order when you get there. The services are not like a real restaurant...hell you can even go to the restrooms in the majority of them. The food is cooked to order and usually be reasonably-priced and good. I can't say even say if they are rude...I have never been treated rude here, your service is simple "How can I help you "give you a total, you pay. You either get a number or they call out what your order number, you get your bag, check it and go. The majority of the places you stand and wait on your food and go. I can say...in the City for me the food is better....at the majority of the all Chinese restaurants. Everyone has their favorite one to go too...but by far the City's...

I've been to most of the Chinese restaurants in the area but this is the one I come to most often. The food is solid all around and tends to be more consistent than the other places. Standouts for me include the Bing Lau fried rice, which although expensive, eats like a meal. The hot braised chicken combo is also good because they take the time to put a thick crunchy coating on their chicken which nicely counters the sweet thick sauce. The duck fried rice is another great order for that authentic St. Louis style fried rice taste. Some of the other orders didn't exactly wow me, the pepper beef being...

Last place I went didn’t take credit card. Called here and they said they do. I arrived and placed a decent size order. A little bit over 40bucks. Waited outside in the car. About 10 to 15 min later food was ready. Got home to eat and YUCK! The rice was so mushy. The protein looked bland liked it was just cooked in water and throw on top of the mushy rice. I did call to let them know. The lady didn’t seem too concerned. More like a oh well type of response. I wasted my money and time. So atleast I can leave a review to...
