My family and I decided to grab a bite to eat at Moochie's. Got in the door and there were two customer standing there waiting to be seated. We had been standing there for about 10 minutes and I asked the lady were they waiting to be seated and was there hostess. She said yes and the hostess was doing something in the dining room. I asked how long they had been waiting she said for at least 20 or 30 minutes. After about another 5 to 10 minutes the hostess comes up front with a gentleman and the two ladies have been standing there patiently. One of the ladies heard them say that they were looking for a specific table. The place was very loud very busy and very congested at the door. The lady happened to say no that's not right I just wanted to sit on that side over there to hear the DJ for whatever reason. What I know now as being the manager said that she had been rude to the young lady and that everybody was afraid of her and that they were going to call the police she needed to leave. My family and I were at a loss. They both have been standing there very quietly minding their own business until spoken to. The whole time we were there that woman never said anything to anybody and she wasn't rude to anybody. She tried to explain to this manager that she had done nothing. And he kept insisting that she needed to leave and he was up in her face telling her that she was being loud as if everybody was it including him and if she didn't leave they were going to call the police. As the lady walked out the door the hostess made a foul remark to the other young woman that was with her. We left and went someplace else because it was absolutely too loud they had nobody watching the front of the house and the lack of daisical way the manager handled that was completely unethical. I work for another restaurant where if I handled a customer that way that was trying to explain that that's not what happened and didn't even hear them out I would be written up. I felt so sorry for those ladies. I was curious so I asked them I walked up to them and asked them what had happened and they were just there to hear the DJ because they were thinking about hiring him for her daughter's wedding. She explained that they didn't want to sit over there next to the gaming machines and near the kitchen she just wanted to be somewhere in front of the bar or on that side over there so they could hear and see how he performed and handle the crowd. I think they really lost a customer I know they've lost my business. All I can remember is the lady saying that's not what happened you know and him saying I'm going to call the police on you. While the young woman sit behind the desk and smirked. Employees are not the end all be all truth and yes as he said I've got my employees backs this is one time he shouldn't have this employees back. It was unjustifiable what happened to that...
Read moreI called in my order for a fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries and an extra order of fries. I get to the restaurant and wait at the reception desk for at least 10 minutes before any employee came to great me or acknowledge all while the barkeepers see me standing and waiting. When the waitress, a curly redhead finally came up to check on me and get my food, I checked it before I left and my extra fries were not there. I informed her that I had asked for extra fries and was told the fries only comes in one portion and gave me a odd look as if I was now trying to scam for some free fries and told me they would be extra. I advised her I expected to pay for extra fries and handed her my card again to cover the additional order of fries (which I asked for when I called in). Here's my issue with the service tonight, she comes back and hands me a receipt for $12.70 and walked off. I grabbed the attention of the bouncer/security and a different employee and asked if they charge 12.00 or an order of fries and they walked to the back to find out what happened. The security came back up front to tell me there was confusion and the waitress thought I wanted a basket of fries (which 12.00 is still a crazy price to pay for). Because the waitress didn't come back up to me to explain what happened or apologize, my assumption is she tried changing me that much out of spite. There is no reason to put in an order for that size of fries, common sense would be to put an order in for a regular order of fries and/or if there was more than one size (which she told me in the beginning there was one portion size) that she would confirm what size I wanted before charging me.
The security guard is the only person tonight that acted like they appreciated my business as he told me they were going to reimburse me for the $12.70 and just give me the fries for the inconvenience.
I've been to Moochies Tavern several times in the past and tonight was the worst service I've experienced at this establishment.
Just a bad experience for something as simple as an...
Read moreNormally, I don’t write reviews but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity on this one. I love Moochies, the food is great and the staff (most of the time) is friendly, with the exception of a few. This is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience but I keep re trying because the food is good and most of the time it’s busy or late so I can understand. Not this time. I sat down at the bar. The bartender (Ashely and Kaitlyn) were working. They looked right at me and my wife and basically ignored us. It took 23 minutes for us to be greeted, 29 minutes for us to get drinks, by the time we were ready to order my wife insisted on leaving because we didn’t even have menus and she didn’t want to wait any longer. Yes, we saw the host and she told us we could sit at the bar and that she would bring menus (never did). Ashely’s (blonde bartender) service is never great but again it’s normally busy, not tonight. Very slow, few people around the bar. I asked to speak with the manager to see if we could put in a Togo order how long it would take. The manager( short, dark hair, glasses) kinda brushed me off and told me that he wasn’t going to provide a discount, which I never asked for. Just asked to put a Togo order in. I went to the restroom while he spoke to my wife. My wife stated that the manager made an inappropriate comment towards her and she felt uncomfortable. At this point we decided to stop at wendies on the way home. We were leaving and I decided to do some research when I got home. I looked on the Facebook page and come to find out, the manager, ART, had been previously fired from hooters for “sexual harassment” not sure how he was able to get a job here seeing that the majority of the staff is female. After this horrible experience and becoming aware of this information, I will not be visiting again. I think it would be an injustice not to let other customers know what’s going on here at Moochies. Good luck to you if you have Ashely as your bartender or server, you won’t...
