Went last night after recommendations and I couldn’t have been more underwhelmed and disappointed. It was packed and the service was just terrible. The server was nice and all, but we waited for well over an hour for our food. To that, we had some friend come in well over an hour after we ordered and got their food shortly after we did. The filet I ordered, on recommendation from the server as “the best steaks in Starkville”, was dry and medium temp (I ordered medium rare as any steak lover would order). The Gouda grits were overly salty. Someone else at the table ordered the Redneck Fried Rice. Sounded great after the hostess and server both said it was their fav, but it was slimy from the garlic aioli, but the steak in the dish was cooked perfect, u like the actual steak I ordered! As my buddy noted..”the bread was the best thing!”
On top of the food, it was extremely loud. The music was good, just too loud for a place that small. Maybe they should’ve been at the back of the restaurant so everyone didn’t have to talk loudly just to hear each other. Lastly, it took darn near 15 minutes, with multiple reminders to get our bill, $187 - which is appropriate since it’s murder lol.
Positives, I saw a lot of familiar faces and we sat near the door so it was easy to leave when we paid up.
I only come to town 3-4x a year because I live far away. Definitely won’t go back, and I’ll be surprised if it makes it in...
Read moreHad such a lovely evening here. We got the hot pimento cheese dip appetizer. Very good. Definitely enough for 4 people. We then had the shrimp Alfredo, and jerk salmon bowl. The jerk salmon bowl was delicious and very unique! Would recommend. The shrimp was very yummy and I liked the different choice in noodles. Sauce was standard and solid.
Tried multiple cocktails-old fashioned, lemon drop, señor jefe and razors edge. All were good and we were asked our ice preference which is nice!
The meals came with a side salad. I recommend the restaurant add cheese in the future as it’s simple. But for customers. I recommend their home made honey mustard. It was delicious.
Customer service was stellar. Waiter took his time with us and offered recommendations. We sat on the shaded patio which had music, TVs, and fans.

The menu is impressive and offers a great variety, along with an amazing selection of specialty cocktails that are as delicious as they are creative. I started with the stuffed mushrooms, and let me just say—WOW. For my entree, I had the jerk salmon bowl and it was incredible. Every bite was unforgettable. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who clearly care about making your experience memorable. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you’re truly missing out.
