Thunderhead Lodge — Restaurant in Steamboat Springs

The Thunderhead Lodge food court features absolutely gorgeous views, and several dining options. It's a grab-and-go style where you can order at one of three counters with several menus. They have pizza, burgers, fancy grilled cheeses, chicken tenders, Thai and Korean bowls, noodles, Mac n cheese, etc... There is a lot of variety but everything is extraordinarily expensive. My husband asked for his burger medium rare and the cook said "I only make medium-well burgers". This place has the best Burger on the mountains. Friendly staff, and did an amazing job keep us safe during this difficult COVID time. Special thinks to the manager Jeff for helping us figure out how to order from the online menu. We need to edit our order to just meat and cheese. We couldn’t figure it out, and he was helpful. Great views and great location at the top of the mountain! We loved the bar, their bloody Mary was to die for, and can substitute as a snack, complete with brown sugar glazed bacon, a hard boiled egg and pickled veggies. Great happy hour specials too.
