I’ve visited La Peri Peri a few times now, so had the chance to try most if not all the items on their menu. I’m all for supporting small businesses, so for what it’s worth here is my honest review. Won’t find any sugar coating here. I really enjoy their grilled chicken and always ask for more sauce on the side, it’s so addictive! I’ve been told that it’s made in house, that’s pretty cool! My favorite item on their menu is the Spicy Naga Doner. It was very reminiscent of the doner kebab from the shops like Spice Hut or Real Taste in Mile End, East London… A delicacy I miss very much! Although, I personally didn’t think it went well with Tortilla. Naan maybe, tortilla pieces, no. IMO, it just doesn’t work. Also, not a fan of their “Portuguese” rice, which I tried once. Not interested to try again. It tastes nothing like what it’s trying to be, but instead has that Bengali home cooked fulaw taste to it. I’ve told them about this in the restaurant. All in all, this place went beyond my expectations in terms of employee friendliness and food. I will admit, it’s a little on the pricier side. That said, I’m honestly appreciative to have a Peri Peri Chicken restaurant in my neck of the woods and not have to drive all the way across town. 9/10 will recommend and...
Read moreLa Peri Peri Restaurant promised a tantalizing peri peri experience, but unfortunately, fell short on multiple fronts. The chicken, while tender, was drowned in an overwhelming tangy sauce that dominated every bite, leaving little room for other flavors to shine. What's worse, both the whole chicken and wings suffered from the same monotonous marinade, lacking the diversity expected from peri peri cuisine. Adding to the frustration was the lukewarm temperature of the dishes upon arrival, failing to deliver the comforting warmth expected from freshly prepared meals. Despite the pleasant ambiance and attentive service, these shortcomings greatly detracted from the overall dining experience. For those seeking a balanced and flavorful peri peri adventure, La Peri Peri Restaurant may not be the destination of choice. With some adjustments to their menu and attention to detail in food preparation, La Peri Peri has the potential to regain its footing and provide a more satisfying experience for...
Read moreWe got a half platter and were told it will take 20 minutes but it took almost 40 minutes. It’s understandable because it was very busy but once I took my order to the car I opened it and noticed it was missing the rice and I was given just chicken. It’s a good thing I checked or else I would have went home without realizing. I went back and asked about this and was told they ran out of rice. Why did they not double check the order before giving it to the customer? And why take the order if it’s not available? We did not wait for that long to not receive what we ordered. They gave us more chicken wings and fries to make up for it but it completely ruined the experience and again, not what we ordered or wanted. If we knew, we would have ordered something else or went somewhere else but instead wasted time there. The food was not worth all this. The dine in experience might be better because they’re clearly given more priority than the take...
