I was visiting from Texas and it was my last day so we decided Pop's would be good for takeout. We did the sampler. It was take out, ordered at the bar. We were promptly helped and the waitress was great, however after 40 minutes we are still waiting. Another 10 minutes go by and we FINALLY get our food. The sampler has a smoked chicken, ribs, pulled pork and brisket with 2 sides; we chose mac and cheese and fried okra. The sampler also came with dinner rolls. We got home and the food was luke warm, no rolls, mushy congealed mac and cheese and burnt okra. Honestly the flavor of the meat was good but being luke warm it turned greasy fast. The brisket was actually sitting in grease. The mac and cheese tasted like it was from the day before, dried out with no cheese sauce. And the fried okra wasn't even edible it was so burnt. So we didn't eat the sides after a bite but like I said the actual flavor of the meat was good. Our problem was the 45 minute wait for our food and it being luke warm like the food sat in the kitchen and forgotten. So upsetting because my Key Cudjoe Aunt bragged about Pop's. She says the food trucks are so much better. Will not be back. Texas BBQ...

Nestled behind a fresh food and seafood market, you will find a friendly father and son duo preparing yummy BBQ with love!

My family tried the sampler and it was gone before I opened the lid good 😅.

The sampler included: BBQ rib Brisket Pulled pork 2 sides - We chose the Baked Beans and the Mac n Chz 2 choices of BBQ sauce 2 Hawaiian rolls

I am a messy vegetarian/pescatarian, so I sampled the baked beans and the Mac n Chz…yum and yum across the board! Omg the beans are so smokey and full of flavor. As for the meat, the family was so happy to have something delicious so close.

I was told: the ribs and the brisket are win win🏆. The chicken and the pulled pork combined with the amazing sauces are a sure fire combination! The smokey flavors are embedded throughout and the texture of each meat sample is moist and tender.

Thank you for sharing your amazing story and we can’t wait to order...

Heard lots of great things but being that it is the only BBQ place around I can see why people say it is "good". The meat was cooked PERFECTLY but lacking flavor. The Mac n cheese is COMPLETELY flavorless and dry, the noodles were overcooked as well. The rolls are obviously kings Hawaiian sweet rolls. The BBQ sauce is in sweet baby ray jugs in plain sight when you order and is clearly not house made. I dont care but don't advertise that it is house made. Claimed the sampler platter is enough for 2 people when it is only 16 Oz of meat with soggy yellow noodles, pre-made sauce and rolls for over 40 dollars. Not upset, had to try it. Will not be back unless it's the only thing open and I'm drunk but they're closed half of the week as well. I'll make my own brisket for half the price of a one person meal. Congratulations on the new business but yall cam definitely step it up woth very few...

Dropped on this place after a couple of hours at memorial beach. We went for lunch around 1.00 p.m. My wife and I couldn't decide from the excellent selection available so went for 4 meat sampler platter. This was more than enough for the two of us and ended up taking a doggy tray with the food we couldn't eat. Everything was cooked to perfection and the brisket melted in your mouth, the meat fell off the baby back ribs, the chicken breast was huge. Taste was excellent, well seasoned but not overpowering. We had the sides of mac and cheese, coleslaw and potatoe salad which were all fantastic. Great value for money, the bill came to $62 with drinks. Our server was fantastic and couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommended if you're in the area. Many thanks, best food we've had in a long, long time.

Walked in to this restaurant for the first time and did not know that they were closing in 30 minutes, we asked if it was too late to order and if so that was totally fine. Obviously it was our fault we didn’t look it up. Erica insisted that we order and told us the food they were unfortunately out of which was one of the things I was so excited to try…..Mac & cheese. We ordered Togo, my husband and I got the brisket plate, with potato salad, and green beans and my lord that food was so good we went back a day later, and I got to try the Mac & cheese and it was totally worth going back! I can’t say enough about the food but the service is incredible, the people that work there are just genuinely good, and nice people!

In a league of its own - Pop’s is your BBQ oasis in the lower keys. It is rare to find an exceptional balance of flavor, texture, and portion size when it comes to brisket - but Pop’s excels in creating traditional smoked brisket that achieves exactly that! By far the best smoked brisket I’ve had since visiting the iconic Texas smoke houses in Austin. The owner is genuinely passionate about his business and his excitement for BBQ shines through in the food. Do yourself a favor and indulge the fork tender brisket - with its satisfying full smoke flavor and savory salt and pepper bark - you’ll flip out! Pop’s is on its way to becoming a Florida Keys BBQ landmark.
