This was our first time at Brenda's Kitchen, and we will definitely be back every time we travel thru Stratford. We came to visit our friend, that lives here, and she brought us over to eat. It may have taken a little longer to get our food than a fast food restaurant, but I would not consider Brenda's a fast food establishment. Brenda's is definitely a place to get homemade food. We had burgers and fries, but she does run specials as well (checker board daily for new specials). The hamburger meat was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and was a good sized portion. Everything was delivered to our table just as we ordered. I had grilled jalepenos and onions, with pepperjack cheese. I never get mustard or mayo on any burger, so that I can truly taste the meat, and I am so glad I chose to skip condiments because the meat was so very tasty, juicy, and delicious. The fries were hand cut slivers, also cooked and seasoned to perfection. Brenda even came out of the kitchen to check on us. She was very courteous and professional. The restaurant was very clean and presentable (tables, floors, and the part of the kitchen I could see). The young man that delivered our food, after making sure we had everything we had ordered, also walk around making sure all empty tables were clean and ready for other customers. I will give Brenda's a 12 out of 10 for taste, selection, portion, service, and cleanliness. I will give them a 10 on wait time, because it took about as long as would be expected for a home cooked meal. Kudos to Stratford, Texas for adding this establishment...

My wife and I both got the burger and we shared a large fries. The burger was excellent. Fresh veggies, great patty, and bun toasted perfectly. The meat was seasoned with "something" that was salt and pepper based, so no need to add anything. It was really good.
The fries were excellent if you like home-made style fries. They were cut thin (a bit thinner than McD's fries) and cooked perfectly. These are more like 5-Guys fries, not McD's, so keep that in mind. Really enjoyed them.
We'll definitely stop in again when passing through in the future.
If there was any negative, it was that the bathroom...

She made me an incredible watermelon margarita with Tajín on the rim—hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. Because of my food allergy, she went above and beyond and whipped up something special that wasn’t even on the menu: chicken nachos with fajita peppers. Delicious doesn’t even begin to describe it.
We ended up sharing a table with a great group of people, swapping stories over drinks and supper. The atmosphere felt more like a gathering of old friends than...
