My wife and I have been wanting to try this B.Y.O. place for a few months now and finally got here. What a great looking local spot. Plenty of tables with white table cloths and black cloth napkins, high arched ceilings (that unfortunately really bounced the noise volume up from a larger table of customers but not a deal breaker) Frank Sinatra and similar artists play through the built in wall speakers. Our server never gave us her name but she was very attentive, fun, friendly and informative. The menu is extensive and should offer something for everyone. We started with Calamari and Stuffed Mushrooms. Both were very good. We especially enjoyed the red sauce that came with the calamari. Before the apps came, we were presented with a basket of toasted, garlic buttered bread with red sauce and a big bowl of sliced, grilled green peppers in red sauce. Wow was that delicious! We even took the leftover green peppers and red sauce home for omelettes the next morning. For the entrees my wife got the Penne alla Vodka and added shrimp and I tried the 14 oz. Aged Ribeye steak. Both came with soup or salad and we both chose soup. “Pasta e fagioli” and I kid you not… it was the best Pasta e Fagioli I’ve ever had! My wife enjoyed her pasta very much and the added shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. My Ribeye steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare with a beautiful char and delicious seasoning on it. It was presented sliced on a sizzling hot skillet plate with cubed potatoes and a side of steak sauce. At this point we were so full we couldn’t possibly do coffee or desserts but our waitress sent us home with two complimentary mini cannolis “just because”. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here and truly cannot wait...
Read moreI used to eat here fairly regularly, but sadly I refuse to set foot in this place ever again. I would come specifically for the all-you-can-eat mussels, which are served with a mouth-wateringly delicious red sauce. Their pizza is also excellent, and to be honest, I don't ever remember having anything from this place that wasn't good. So at this point, people reading this review may be wondering why I won't ever eat here again. Well, to be frankly honest, they do have one major (and unfortunately, deliberate) flaw in the service. Whenever I hand the waitress (who seems to be the same one more often than not) the money for the check, she ALWAYS responds by saying "do you need change?" And, perhaps not surprisingly, the service up until that point is usually excellent (I think that they are deliberately overly nice up until that moment, so that you'll be caught off guard when it happens). Anyway, after this happened one too many times, I politely explained to her that it is not polite to say that and that the correct response is "I'll be right back with your change". Well, in the nicest, least profane and most "professional" response that she could muster, she basically told me to go f myself and refused to refrain from saying it again in the future. So anyway, the next time I went back, I took my credit card with me, so she wouldn't be able to ask. Well, if you can believe it, she comes towards my table as I'm finishing up, and without even seeing the credit card, asks if I need change. Shame, because as I said before, the food is excellent, but the people who run this place obviously don't know as much as they think they do about...
Read moreI just was told to Go to Hell by the owner and that “only people like me complain”😮I was in shock but got my money back for sour Alfredo that my son and I ate last night ,only to fight over the toilet !I allowed him to holler at the top of his lungs in front of employees and a customer. No I didn’t act like him by hollering back ,I actually thought by not doing so he would calm down but it seemed to enrage him even more.He thought the remaining food was eaten Nooo we threw it away and I took what was left in our containers to him along with salads we didn’t touch at all .That owner had the nerve to ask a man of color do you have complaints about my food In which he lightly replied no .But than he said you people are the only ones that complain so I showed him his reviews and my people weren’t complaining His people did.And I’m only saying it that way because he showed and verbally spoke how he felt about me as a woman of color.I told him I recorded him and it will be posted on FB.He said he didn’t care.I know he is old and if he continues to act like Incredible Hulk he will only hurt hisself .By the look the employees gave they are youst to his behavior and the cashier couldn’t calm him down either .I don’t argue with fools because people from a distance won’t know who’s who .ok Back to the toilet I go.1 star for the...
