European's Best Restaurant & Bakery (Cash or Check Only) — Restaurant in Strongsville

I would give this 2.5 if I could. We just tried this place today for lunch. We had stuffed cabbage with a potato pancake side and chicken paprikas with spatzels. The potato pancake was good but it tasted/looked more like hash brown...still good though. I didn't like the stuffed cabbage too much. It was rather bland inside with somewhat overpowering sour flavor on the outside. My hubby who loves stuffed cabbage didn't find it that appealing either. He said it was okay. Chicken paprikas was good. It was my first time having that dish and I quite liked it although others might/could find it a bit bland. My hubby liked it, too. The bread they served was really good. We had two different kinds of soup that came with the entrees, beef goulash which was really good and cauliflower soup which was not bad. The meal itself was overall fine except the stuffed cabbage.

I really wish I didn't try their bakery section though. My hubby got a Chinese moon cookie which was good. I got an eclair. We ate them at home and that was a mistake. The eclair had lemon flavor custard which was odd but didn't mind the flavor too much. The problem was that the eclair was somewhat frozen which indicates that it was not a fresh one so how knows when it was actually made. The pastry part was very dry and the custard was kinda rubbery. You could touch the custard without getting any on your fingers. I even grabbed it and took the edge off and my fingers were still clean. This is not the kind of eclair you expect to get when you pay almost $3 for it. If we would have eaten it at the restaurant, maybe we could have gotten the money back or something but we ate it at home so it was just our bad luck. That really left a bad taste in the mouth(literally and figuratively) so we are not too sure if we would...

I have been a regular here for over 5 years because the cookies and cakes of the bakery are SO yummy 😋 But Eurpean's Best is also the cutest little family restaurant, with THEE ABSOLUTE_ MOST DELICIOUS!!_ Polish and Slovenian meals & specialties around! The breakfast deals are amazing and each time, the eggs are cooked perfectly to order: whether I ask for over easy, over medium, poached, or scrambled! It is impressive! Another great meal is their pork schnitzel breakfast: WOW! Moist, tender, breading is light but crisped: So , SOOO * GOOD* _ I brought my 7 yr old granddaughter who adores their chocolate chip pancakes & blueberry, apple, and strawberry crepes. I always get the stuffed peppers when they have them on the menu, they are so scrumptious! Also worth a mention is their city chicken, stuffed cabbage rolls and chicken paprikash. The paprikash sauce is absolutely stunning, such a great blend of sour cream and smoked paprika! Mouth watering, just thinking of it over their spatzel.... I can not recommend this diner enough: there are not enough words for how consistent the quality and how very tasty their meals are; even better, the staff is so friendly and professional, ready to solve any* problem with an order! I'm really unhappy with this place. The food is ok. Good price. The service is horrible. The past two times I had breakfast there, the same waitress forgot about our table. She never refilled our coffee. Never came back to our table to refill drinks. Not friendly at all. I wouldn't have left a tip. My boyfriend insists on tipping 20 percent. Bad service or good. Then, another occasion, I was there, waiting for my turn to get something from the bakery. A simple to-go order. The older woman was finishing up with a customer. I waited five minutes. She turned her back on me and did something. Who knows what. She finally asked me what I wanted. I told her I wanted a loaf of bread to start. She had a younger girl get it. Then, she proceeded to take care of another customer without finishing my order. The young girl disappeared in the back. I told the older woman that what just happened was very rude. I bought the bread for my boyfriend and didn't buy anything else. I won't be back. I have had many rude experiences there. I never told my boyfriend what happened because he loves the place. He can go with friends from now on. I refuse to be treated rudely, especially when spending my money. This place is nothing to write home about. I'll go elsewhere...
