King Dragon — Restaurant in Strongsville

Discovered this take-out place a few years ago and it quickly became our go-to for Chinese food as they offered good food at a good price. Recently though, their overall quality and consistency has taken a large drop.

On our last few trips, we noticed that the chicken they use for dishes like Orange Chicken or General Tso's is now a very cheap and breading-heavy frozen product. It's no better than anything from the grocery store. The orange chicken sauce has lacked any distinct flavor (needs more orange, some heat, and some acid). The noodles in the lo mein are always overcooked as mushy. Even the white rice was wet and mushy. Place like this have automatic rice cookers - there is no excuse for terrible rice. The Pork Egg Rolls have been good time after time though.

Our orders lately have been ready in less than 10 minutes. On one hand, the speed and convenience is great. But when you think about it, a lot of the food we are getting is probably just sitting around and being reheated for a few minutes. This would explain why a lot of items are overcooked.

We have noticed that prices have gone up as well. Price increases right now are totally expected, but the quality should not be worse. So many chinese places are taking shortcuts nowadays, and this place seems to be no exception. It disappointing knowing how good this place was a...

One of the better "hole in the wall" type chinese restaurants I've been to. It was definitely on the clean side when I went in and ordered. The food we got had good flavor. I got a mango chicken combo and my fiance got Kung pow shrimp. Flavors were excellent on both however the chicken could have used more glaze on it. The shrimp only had fine pieces of shrimp in the dinner which is kinda skimpy in my opinion. The shrimp dinner was filled with celery so if you love celery...lol. the egg rolls are AMAZING from this place but the pastry they wrap them in wasn't cooked all the way through, in mine at least but the flavor was there for sure. The crab Rangoon has ACTUAL (imitation I'm sure) crab and onion in it which is hard to come by in the smaller joints like this one. They were super good. We have been customers here for years. Tonight, after picking up our order, we realized they got my husband's dish wrong. He ordered the same exact dish a few days ago and had no issues. When he called and told them, they agreed to remake it (after arguing with him about it for a few minutes). When he got there, they refused to give him any type of credit for the inconvenience of having to come back. In fact, they didn't even apologize for getting the order wrong in the first place! In my opinion, this is not how you treat any customer, especially people that have been supporting your business for years! We will be looking for a new place for takeout...
