This Mc Donald's is it quiet McDonald's just off of Interstate 80 very very high traffic area of Interstate 80 near Des Moines. It has a double drive-thru Lanes people seem to not know how to use those there's a lot of confusion on who got to go next I can't blame that on McDonald's but they could have put signs up saying to alternate. Personally I don't always use a drive-thru because I always have bad experience at the drive-thru. This time was no exception. I figured I'm just going to order one thing and how could they really mess that up. But like Murphy's law says, what can go wrong will go wrong, I ordered a double quarter pound cheeseburger. Nothing else was ordered. I went to the first window and pay for my order and proceeded to the second window to pick up my order. They handed me me the sack I thought it felt light for a quarter pound double. I pulled up just past the window trauma open up the sandwich box, and for sure it was just a regular quarter pound not a double quarter pound cheeseburger. Lo and behold here I go again. I have to go back in to the drive-thru Lanes, fight the the merging Lanes from the double ordering process, too make it to the second window where I was told to go. She open the window said they told me they take care of everything. Then three minutes later, she comes and opens window and says that'll be a dollar fifty nine and I'm like what are you talkin about you just said you'd take care of everything. Apparently they didn't charge me enough and this is already about 25 minutes into the whole drive through experience they told me they didn't they didn't charged me for double they charged me for a single. It felt more like I was trying to run off with that extra quarter-pound Patty for free and they just caught the Hamburglar. I'm sitting at the window and of course they asked me to go ahead and pull up and wait. That's the kiss of death in the Drive-Thru that's where they send cars to die, for people's beards to grow, cars to run out of gas Etc. So I had no choice,. or wanted to to eat. So there I was of course. I'm telling myself the whole time this is why you don't do drive-thrus. It's a black cloud over me I don't know why. I would say four out of five times I use a drive-through, they get my order right one time. It was starting to feel like I was waiting forever, I don't know how long I was sitting there waiting, it was it was way too long. Finally a person in a McDonald's uniform comes out to my vehicle, and they hand me my sack and just turn around and walk away. There was no communication whatsoever. I was hoping you maybe they're would be a french fry in there. Just something simple to compensate for the wait. But there was nothing not even an apology. Now the focus is on the food that he did deliver. So I'm thinking, I bet you this isn't the right sandwich. I open the box, and lo and behold, they got the single converted to a double hamburger, my order was complete.. The cheeseburger was lukewarm it obviously had been sitting there for a while. that was completely out of energy to fight with them anymore so I ate it. I believe when a mistake is made on their part, that not only should I have received priority service, that there should have been a little extra care taken to make sure it was served hot. I'm very thankful I didn't order a drink or french fries. I would not recommend this McDonald's. Or at minimum if you do eat there , avoid the drive-thru at all costs...
Read moreTerrible customer service. I stopped by this McDonald's today, on a Sunday afternoon at about 1:45 p.m. I sat in the right hand lane waiting for my order to be taken for more than 10 minutes with no one ahead of me, but watching 4 cars pull up after me in the other lane, place their order, and head to the window. I kept saying "hello", and finally someone came on to tell me to hold. There was no one else in the drive thru lanes by now except me. I waited another 3 minutes and was about to just drive away when someone came on to ask me if I'd been helped yet. (!) So I ordered, but when I got to the window, asked if I could talk to a manager. Instead, I was given a very young employee who told me the girl running the lane I was in was very busy, doing 5 jobs at once because they were short-handed. I said it wasn't her fault, then, but that it was a problem they needed to solve. I asked again to speak to a manager, and the employee told me to pull ahead because they were on a timer and worried about their numbers. !!!!!!! At the window to get my food, I asked again to talk to a manager. The manager said, "I'm sorry, but', and proceeded to give me the same story about the girl working 5 jobs. An apology with a 'but' is not an apology at all--just excuses-- especially when it isn't accompanied by true regret and an attempt to make it better. They need to be able to close the second lane if they don't have the staff for it, OR have one single person man both lanes, alternating, to prevent situations like this. These are solutions that the manager should be coming up with and implementing, and the manager should at the very least offer a coupon for a future visit, and give a sincere apology. I drive this route twice weekly and will never go to this McDonald's again. Because of the double drive thru lanes, I've started trying to go to other restaurants that don't have this, because of too many times this has happened. Don't go there expecting to be treated well....
Read moreWorst "fast food" experience ever. We were here approximately 40 minutes. 6-7 cars in front of me, 10-12 wrapped back into the parking lot by the time we left.
I saw no adults working inside. All kids, the 3-4 that we could see in the drivethru window we're more worried about messing around with each other, rather than working.
When the girl working the DT finally got around to opening the window to hand me our food, I got an "Ok....". Why? Probably because she saw my 9 year old getting out of the back seat, so he could run in the side door and use the restroom. He couldn't wait any longer, since we'd been there so long. It had been long enough that he was in tears.
I did then get an "I'm so sorry for the wait." Which I am guessing it was only because she saw the look on my face. Which, it takes a LOT for me to have said look I don't get worked up too easily. But this was awful. I helped manage a Denny's, and we could cook full meals for a packed house faster than this.
I travel from Lincoln back home to North Iowa a lot, and I will be skipping this exit from now on. Well, this McDonalds anyways. There is an option across the street. Very sad.
Oh the food? Warm at best. Our Big Mac patties were literally sticking out of the box. More lettuce than meat. Typically, food is hotter when a place is busy. Not today. Very...
