22 years of living in California have left us with a real love of Mexican food, or a love of Real Mexican food. On a cold January night we decided to play eenie-meenie-miney-mo with this app. The first restaurant only took cash and while in search of an ATM, we passed a familiar Taco Truck, right next to Bob's Barber shop (another local favorite) the smell was irresistible and the line of Hispanic folks braving the cold night air seemed to indicate that this was the real deal. After shivering a bit our favorite (carnitas burrito) was ready and after jumping in the relative warmth of the jeep, we greedily ripped some of the wrapper off and tucked into one of THE BEST carnitas burritos in memory. Spicy, just the right amount of fatty goodness, rice, beans and wrapped in a 'cooked just right' covering of humongous tortilla! For 6 bucks as of this report, the TTOS ( my abbreviation) dispensed a fantastic, authentic and delicious mixture of every thing that belongs in a real Mexican burrito. They also have breakfast all day and a wide variety of fare that's guaranteed to please the palate. The only change for next visit, at least during the frigid Florida winter months will be to order online. Traveling the country as we do sometimes leads to a hit or miss experience in the "Feed me now" choice of eateries! This Taco Truck is the BEST choice...
Read moreI use to love it here. I use to come here alot. I haven't been here awhile but, since my return from out of state, I came here, cause I loved the food here. Boy was I disappointed. So many things has changed. I don't even know where to begin. The asada was disgusting, dry. My girls tacos, they use to have 2 tortillas per taco, one was doubled out of 5 we ordered. The rice, man when did they start serving yellow rice, use to be actual Mexican rice, orange. Not good at all, and the beans, I never been to a Mexican restaurant that had black beans. I was disappointed, very. All around was awful and I truly regret wasting my money here. I will not be back, nor will I ever recommend this place, ever. So disappointed, because this use to be one of my favorite places to eat. Definitely not authentic Mexican. Waste of money and food. No I'm pretty sure y'all at one point had orange rice and refried beans,at least with the asada platter. I was born and raised here. I know y'all been here a little while, but over all the food...
Read moreOne of my old co workers recommended me to this place and I have yet to find a great Taco Spot so figured I'd give Taco Truck a try.
I got 3 tacos (1 Asada, 1 Al Pastor, and 1 Carnitas) with Chips and Salsa for a total of $11 and some change. The price isnt bad. Their chips and salsa was probably my favorite. The Al Pastor and Asada were my least favorite. It doesn't taste like actual carne asada and al pastor was pretty plain. The carnitas taco was the one with the best flavor which surprised me the most. If I go back, I'd only go back for those.
Coming from CA, is why I'm pretty harsh on tacos. The tacos in LA are very different, I consider those to be authentic because well they are as authentic as can be. I'm not saying these were terrible but if anything they were average.
If you don't have high expectations for Mexican food, give this place a shot because it was still good enough for me to enjoy for lunch. Plus their RED...
