A Flavorful Journey at Soul of India: A Must-Visit Indian Restaurant. . . .
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Soul of India, an Indian restaurant located in Southborough, MA. As a first-time visitor, I was captivated by the warm ambiance, attentive service, and, most importantly, the incredibly delicious food. From start to finish, my experience at Soul of India was nothing short of exceptional.
To begin my culinary adventure, I decided to try the Soya Chap, a dish I had never tasted before. The combination of marinated soya chunks and aromatic spices was a revelation. The texture was perfectly tender, and the flavors danced on my taste buds, leaving me craving for more.
Next, I indulged in their famous Dal Makhani, a classic Indian lentil curry. The rich, creamy consistency was complemented by a perfect blend of spices, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors. It was evident that the chef's expertise was reflected in every bite. Accompanied by fragrant basmati rice, this dish left me in awe of its authenticity and depth of taste.
For the main course, I opted for the Kofta, a vegetarian dish consisting of savory vegetable balls in a luscious gravy. The koftas were flawlessly cooked, boasting a crispy exterior and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth interior. The sauce was a delightful blend of spices and aromatic herbs, perfectly balanced to enhance the overall experience.
No Indian meal is complete without a selection of traditional bread, so I ordered a variety of Indian bread, including Naan and Roti. Each bread was freshly baked, with a soft and chewy texture that paired beautifully with the flavorful dishes. The bread acted as a vessel to soak up the tantalizing gravies, elevating the overall dining experience.
The attentive and knowledgeable staff at Soul of India truly enhanced my visit. They were passionate about their cuisine and graciously guided me through the menu, ensuring that my preferences were met. The service was prompt and friendly, making me feel like a valued guest throughout my dining experience.
I wholeheartedly recommend Soul of India to anyone seeking an authentic Indian culinary experience. The restaurant combines warm hospitality, impeccable service, and outstanding flavors to create an unforgettable dining adventure. The extensive menu offers a wide range of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, guaranteeing that every palate will find something delightful.
The next time I find myself in Southborough, MA, Soul of India will be at the top of my list. I look forward to exploring more of their tantalizing dishes and experiencing their exceptional...
Read moreMy husband and I revisited this restaurant today for lunch. It has been 2 years since our last visit and my review of our unsatisfactory. Quality of food became even worse than 2 years ago. As to service, they brought as a receipt for wrong table twice, the 2nd time with someone’s credit card. Attached photo shows first receipt for 2 guests with 3 buffet charge. When eventually they brought our receipt, it had a $3 charge for Sprite which we did not order. Well, we gave it a try today, but sadly, it did not work out for us. Not the food & service one would want to taste.
Initial review 2 years ago. Used to be a great restaurant. Whether it is a new owner or COVID impact, but the restaurant is no longer the same. We were served over burned naan bread which we refused to eat. To our big surprise, they cleaned up the burned spots on the bread and served it to us again. The waiter and someone who we think is a new owner, stood next to our table staring at us as if it is absolutely normal to serve the bread a second time. We went completely speechless because we have never had such a disgusting experience.
The food otherwise was good and eventually they brought a new naan bread. The person who we think is the owner, commented over the bread with a silent hate in his voice “Is it better?”…
… He went by our table at list twice once we finished eating, looked at the plates but would not clean up or ask his staff to clean up our table. We set at the table with dirty plates feeling being punished… The owner came to our table in awhile and clean it up, and I can tell he was proud of himself and how much control he had over the plates.
We were not offered a dessert menu - I asked for it. I skip on the argument we had with the owner over a dessert…
Whether the owner tries hard to keep up with the restaurant, the culture and hospitality are lost, the staff are unhappy and unfriendly, and the overall experience was disappointing.
We cannot recommend this...
Read moreThis was the worst dining experience of my life.
I walked in on July 20 th to treat myself as the experience has always been good but today the waitstaff namely the older gentlemen was unbelievably rude and should be fired on the spot.
First he tried to over charge for the buffet by telling me it was 23 Dollars instead of 20. I also asked clearly if the drinks came with refills and he said yes. After I ordered my drink he says you had 3 no more Refills
I also had mistakenly left my phone in my car and someone follows me out saying I did not pay all The while my wallet is on the table. This restaurant I used to enjoy frequently but bankrupt is where I envision them after the visit. Do yourself a favor by pass here and never go to this establishment. They don’t deserve your business. After this incident the old man refused to clear my table. Letting my fresh food get mixed with my dirty plates. Other reviews have stated such bad service as well. Notice the plates that Are stacked. Also to repeat I had left my phone in my car and was not leaving without paying and these pictures show the dirtiness of your when the owners are not there as commented by other reviewers. These pictures will be forwarded to the Sudbury board of health. And to emphasize your staffs lack of attention. My wallet was on the table !!! But probably not not noticed because they never cleaned the table!!! Truly disgusting and review your facts. You will also the number of 5 star reviews as well to the deserving establishments not to the establishments that don’t take public health safely as demonstrated in the photos. Even a dog eats from a clean bowl. Look at the pictures of the table. And the comments about a customer are made with out honesty. And once again my wallet was on the table but probably not seen because of all...
