The food can be quite excellent, but this is not consistently so...we've had both the best chicken that can be gotten in this area and chicken piccata with no capers that I literally could not chew it was that tough and hard...like it had been overcooked yesterday.
Service, consistency and follow through have exactly the same problems Conrads did. We ordered food from them and picked it up for takeout three times in the last week. The first time was lovely. The second time a very confused young girl got the order wrong and then they failed to put TWO items we paid for in the bag...my partner had to go back and we ate our dinner cold.
Tonight they failed to put the protein in the bag and didn't answer the phone when we called. When my partner went back, they handed him the turkey (now cold in its tinfoul wrapping) the same bit they hadn't put in his bag 25 minutes earlier. Again we are eating cold dinner. And the turkey is hard and overcooked.
Sudbury Point is neglectful of actually giving you what you paid for. This was our chief complaint about Conrads, who also consistently held back the dinner we paid for. Hence the low rating....we want them to be as good as they advertise, but if they are careless about getting the order right...it is not a...
Read moreWe've come here a few times because my son enjoys the food. After our most recent visit, I don't think we'll go back. One member of our party ordered the fisherman's platter, and the scallops on the plate were undercooked. We politely let the waitress know, and she took them back and brought out new ones, which were also undercooked. At that point, we just politely said it was fine, and we didn't need anymore. What happened next is what bothered me. Someone, maybe the chef or manager, came to our table and essentially explained that we were wrong, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. We listened politely, but 1) they were definitely undercooked (we've eaten and cooked quite a few scallops in our lives - we understand how they should look, taste, and what texture they should be), and 2) we did not make any demands for any more food or anything else and it was entirely unnecessary for us to receive a lecture about the cooking of scallops. It was strange and uncomfortable and honestly ruined the rest of the dining experience. Then the man offered us one free dessert, which we didn't really want, but he insisted. The server seemed to want to give it to us 'to go', in an effort to rush us out the door. A really strange and...
Read moreAYYO, what is up; it’s your boy, Ian, back at it again with another food review. Boy, have I got a doozy for you today. We’ve got the newly opened Point Grill, brought to you by the same guy behind Franco’s in Sudbury. We ordered a chicken piccata, chicken marsala, cranberry salmon salad, and marinated steak tip and cheese sub for take-out. The marsala and piccata’s chicken were both very tender. One observation for these two was that the sauces were on the thinner side. The salad’s salmon was given in generous amounts and was also tender. The sub’s steak was cooked to the requested medium rare, and marinated flavorfully. The only minor gripe I had was the artichokes of the piccata, which did not have the outer, tough layer removed, and thus created frequent interruptions in the eating process. However, that was not enough to stop me from rating Point Grill a 5/5. Definitely will come back in the future. Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos for you, because it wasn’t until after that I decided I would commit to this food reviewing journey. If you want to see my previous and first ever food review, check out Positive Pie in Montpelier, VT. That place was...
