We went on opening day. Waited about 15 minutes for coffee, then had to ask for utensils to stir the coffee. Waited another 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken. There were 4 tables that needed bussed the whole time we were there. Service was terrible! Bottom line is we were there an hour and twenty minutes and still didn't have food. Dropped $10 on the counter and left. When we drove around the building there was one waitress out smoking and the owner was outside talking on the phone. Something he did the whole time. We decided to give them a second shot about a week later once they settled in. It was better (had to be because it couldn't have been worse), but it was stll about 20 minutes before we got coffee and we never got a refill. The food was mediocre. Eggs were a little cold, but edible. Service was mediocre too. What needs to be done is, the tables need to be set up for breakfast...cups, utinsils, etc. Then you folks only have to walk around with a coffee pot because most people don't care to wait forever to get it. We used to be regulars...daily regulars. Now we've decided not to step foot in again. Too frustetating. Oh, also, you have to wait forever to get your bill. Stick it on the table while the people are finishing up eating instead of 10 minutes after people are done eating. I saw a lot of people just sitting there trying to get the waitresses attention to get their bill...
Read moreLove the nostalgia of it! They have a mini museum inside of the old railways in Brewster and old photos amd differnent little things like that.Yoy can purchase used books of all different sorts for only 50 cents. The dining area is very small and decorated with all sorts of train/railway things. The waitresses were very nice and friendly. The food, however, was a bit disappointing. I had always heard how great the food was and how inexpensive. The prices are very affordable but the food wasn't very good at all.I don't know if it was just the cook that they had this time or if it's like that all the time.I got the 5 oz steak and eggs which came with homefries and choice of toast ($9.00),my Husband got the country fried steak and eggs which came with homefries and choice of toast (7.50). The price was great...but,my steak was the thinnest I'd ever seen and FULL of black pepper that I had to scrape off with my fork. Both of our homefries were not cooked right and still somewhat crunchy. I am hoping that our experience was just due to a bad cook today and that the food isn't like this...
Read moreI love eating at the Station Restaurant in Brewster. Not only is the food good, but you can learn a lot about the history of the Railroad, which was the Wheeling & Lake Erie many years ago. I think today it is Corman, but I'm not sure. My dad worked here his whole life. There is a small museum in the building which is called the Wandle House. You can learn about the railroad and the town of Brewster. The Wandle House used to house railroaders who came in from other parts of the state as well as other states. My grandmother was a cook (long ago) at the Wandle House. I could go on, but I won't! You can google it to find out more history. The food at the Station is very good, nothing fancy, just good eats & homemade pies. If you're in a hurry, you may want to choose another day to visit. It is not a fast food restaurant, but it's worth the wait. There are some paintings of trains, etc. in the restaurant that I believe were done by a...
