I wish I would think to come to Fire Side more often! My family and I come here occasionally but that will change to more often soon.
We had an extremely long day Thursday and needed a place to eat, my mom suggested Fire Side and I got all happy because I know this place is awesome.
Thursday at 6 pm and the place was packed! Good sign.
The atmosphere is awesome and very comforting.
My mom had a Martini, well actually 5 martinis and they were great! The beer was ice cold also with a great selection of craft beer.
For an appetizer we had chicken wings and steak bites. The steak bites were so fantastic great flavor!
They also give you fresh bread and whipped butter but this bread isn’t some cheap left over bakery bread... this stuff is so soft, fresh and warm!
The wings were good but they bread the chicken here before frying which I’m not a fan of but they still tasted great, everyone has different tastes... I just find that the skin on chicken wings is enough and doesn’t need breading but I’m sure there are alot ppl who enjoy the breading.
The ranch and blue cheese dressing for salads and dips was the best ranch I’ve had. All homemade!
Now onto the meals...
I had a New York Strip steak which was on special with a loaded baked potatoes and fresh steamed veggies.
I ordered my steak medium rare and the inside was PERFECT. So juicy. It was seasoned and seared to perfection, oh man was that sear good. All the fat had been trimmed well too.
The portions here are so good too. The steak was big. The potatoe wasn’t a little petite patatoe and the veggies were a good portion with like 8 or more different veggies. I hate getting veggies from a restaurant and it’s like 2 vegetables.
My folks split the blackened grouper which also had shrimp in it. The flavor was on point!
Seriously you guys have to try this place.
Just like everyone else I would never have thought such a great restaurant would be where it is at!
Oh also I have had the ribs here a couple times and they are fantastic fall off the bone, the sauce is so so good.
Overall I...
Read moreHonestly, I was so mad at my husband after we ate here. We have lived on the west side of Aurora and have been married for 20 years and he has NEVER TAKEN ME HERE. While we were eating he was like, “Oh yeah, I’ve been here a dozen or more times with customers.” I just shook my head because it was just great in every aspect.
There is nothing in Aurora (where we live) besides Turf Room and to me that place is a bit overrated and overpriced.
I am very selective with where I eat. We walked out of a few restaurants before we came here. First of all I don’t like eating out too much because I usually make it better. Secondly, my standards are just too high with cleanliness and I think most places gouge you.
The service was fast, accurate, accommodating. The vibe was laid back and not stuffy. It’s totally a casual restaurant which I like. I like booths because I feel like I’m in the zoo when I am seated at a table. I like to hide. They put us in a cozy booth in the corner. I knew it was going to be good from there.
We shared a bottle of wine. I ordered 8 Oz prime rib and my husband got a huge platter of what looked like some shrimp and a slab of ribs.
These entrees came with soup or salad. The salads were much larger than your typical side garden salad. The ranch to me tasted homemade. You also got a loaf of warm bread and creamy butter beforehand with the salads.
My prime rib and veggies were done to perfection & my husband thoroughly enjoyed everything on his plate. We wish we had room for dessert.
I enjoyed my night out and left relaxed and happy. That is a hard feat with teenaged boys even though we dined alone.
The owner, well I assumed he was but I’m not sure (Cole or Moe I believe) came over and asked how our evening was. This move was old school, professional and we appreciated it. If I owned a restaurant I would surely do the same. Feedback is important.
My husband better take me here at least a few nights a month. A plus!!!!!! I can’t wait to warm up my leftovers...
Read moreMy husband and I found this restaurant about a year and a half ago. For the first year we diligently went there at least once a month, usually on a Friday or Saturday as a special treat for ourselves. The food was fantastic, never had to wait for a table. Very nice atmosphere and the outside appearance is deceiving as the inside is great, warm and cozy. My husband and I are steak afficianado's, he loves ribeyes and I love prime rib. Like I said, for the first year this was the best steak place in a 20 mile radius of West Aurora where we live. The waitstaff was very attentive, plenty of food and the steaks thick and juicy. I do not know what happened within the last six months, whether they changed owners, managers, chefs, whatever. The food has become low to mediocre grade, the waitstaff is hurried and sometimes rude, they don't read the specials. The food came out either cold, underdone and the steaks hard and thin. Prices went up, understandable with the economy but if you are going to raise the prices then keep the quality of the food. I will pay more for a good steak. Don't sit at the booths by the bar on a Friday or Saturday night, it is so loud you cannot hear anyone at your table. I'm not sure why they do not open the other dining area to patrons that are their for dinner, keep the booths by the bar for bar folks. The last time we went, almost two months ago, my husband changed up and had the lamb chops. Terrible, no mint jelly so we exchanged them for a ribeye. The ribeye was raw, pointed it out to the waitress, she never came back. We paid for my steak and left. Unfortunately former loyal customers who will never go back and will pass the word on to...
