Review of The Brandin Iron, Nemo, SD
I have always enjoyed dining at The Brandin Iron in the past, often rating you highly in my reviews. However, my recent visit was quite disappointing and not up to the usual standards I've come to expect.
During my latest visit, I ordered the filet tips with a side of asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the filet tips were overcooked and dry, making them tough and unenjoyable. The garlic mashed potatoes were served cold and in a bowl, which was an odd presentation, and did nothing to enhance the flavor or experience. The asparagus was also tough and difficult to eat.
Additionally, it was clear that the restaurant was understaffed. The service was slow and not as attentive as it has been in the past, which affected the overall dining experience for my wife and me, as well as the two other couples we were with.
On a positive note, I did notice an improvement in your beer selection, which is commendable. However, this alone was not enough to make up for the shortcomings in both the food and service.

Read moreWe ate there yesterday evening. They only take cash but there is atm in back. I had the pulled pork bbq, baked beans, pasta salad. The pulled pork came out without bbq sauce and tasted watery.the bbq tasted like baby rays. There was no onion or pickle . The pasta was plain and tasted like they put italian dressing on it.only pasta nothing else in it. The baked beans where a little dry but probably the best part of the meal. My boyfriend had the beef tips and french fries. Lol, 3/4 of plate was fries and 1/4 overcooked chunks of beef. They did find two "dinner rolls" for him. They tasted like greasy fried donuts.you could see they were greasy looking on plate. 31 dollars with 3 beers and pasta salad and dinner rolls off ticket. Would never eat here again!!! Might order beer only. No food !!!. Save your money eat...

The waiter came and said that it was not a hot pasta, but it was a hot pasta. My husband returned it to the kitchen. He did not eat supper that night. The manager took it off the bill and always satisfied. I had the lobster mac & cheese and FYI it is the same sauce as they use on the angry pasta so it does have a bite, but I thought it was delicious. The lava cake was also delicious with a great big scoop...
