Lucero's Mexican Bar & Grill Jackson — Restaurant in Summit Township

Food is great! But the last 3 times we've been there, we e sat on the patio and had server who obviously was new and had no experience and was left in her own. Management has no idea how to train apparently. 20 mins for drinks to come first time. Almost 30 mins the last time. If the weather hadn't been so nice we would have just got up and left. Can't blame the kids when the managers is to busy standing in the doorway watching them fail. I'd honestly fire the managers and start over. It was that bad. Hope the 2 servers are better and have gained a little experience now. But I wouldn't be surprised if they left for lack of support. Called ahead for reservations they told us they don't do that. We show up with party of 13 ask if this can be accommodated and were told that they could and would be an hour wait. Hour and 40 mins later we are told tables are ready to be taken back to awkwardly stand in dinning section for another 20 mins at tables that only seat 8! Not once did a manager come and try to expedite the situation or offer a single solution. They they had the audacity to ask us to move out of their way to sit another party. Bland. Uninspiring. Disappointing.

Refried beans. Bland. Mexican rice. Bland. Salsa just a tad spicer than tomato juice. Nice, hot tortilla chips in serious need of salt. Chimichangas looked like they were pressed between two fryer baskets like doughnuts. Tortillas limp and greasy. Beef filling: bland. Chicken fajitas dry, bland. Even the guacamole is off-putting. Peach sangria was tasty. So was the Modello Negra. Upsetting. I had such high hopes for a decent restaurant nearby. Service was pretty good. Nice looking place.
