The inside looks nothing like pictured. There are currently picnic tables outside with a canopy over it. The food: Delish!!! If you know how to make greens, you may want to pass on their version. The macaroni and cheese is something I wished I would've purchased more of, it was a nice substitute for homemade 😋. I really enjoyed the brisket that just seemed to melt in your mouth. The whole slab of baby backs was fall off the bone yummy with just the right amount of smokey flavor!!! The portions of meat are plentiful and filling which worked well with the price I paid and made the meal even more satisfying. We ate real good for two days (leftovers). I ordered two whole slabs of baby backs, one pound of brisket, for dessert two brownies w/ German Chocolate cake icing and bought a little jar of their "Hot" BBQ sauce, which to me is their best tasting sauce. They have one sauce labeled "B", that I personally took a quick pass on as it has a near watery and is too vinegary. The "Mild" is my next favorite. I got out of there just under $100.00. I thought very well priced. You get a roll and butter with the slabs. The sides are extra. As I previously mentioned, I bought a small greens and a 16 Oz of Mac n cheese. I'd pass on the greens and double up on man n cheese next time.

TL;DR: Brisket overcooked and tastes like the grease trap, texture Rigor mortis-esque. Potato salad FANTASTIC. So as a transplant from tx I was looking around for something to eat familiar the first week I was here l. Lo an behold we had a BBQ place with more than just two strips of brisket available. Decided to try them and the first couple of visits it wasn't bad, I really enjoyed the potato salad. The brisket was more visually appealing then but tough. But it was ok. I really wanted to enjoy the place and almost always give a place a few trips before committing to review Fast forward to the last two or so visits I spend 20+ and then only to find out after I'm home its inedible. I mean look at the picture of the most recent. I would have rather been turned away than paid for this overcooked tasteless 20$ pound of disappointment. It looks and tastes like it's over cooked (definitely no pink ring) and was sitting in the bottom of the smoker. It should have been tossed out or made into something else. This is the second time since reopening that I've been served this and will be the last.

Today, my husband and I decided to drive 40 minutes to try West Texas BBQ after seeing some pictures of the place on Facebook. We're both huge fans of BBQ and couldn’t wait to give it a shot. We placed an online order about 20 minutes before arriving at the restaurant, and when we ordered, it indicated that our meal would be ready in 15 minutes—perfect timing.

When my husband went inside to pick up our order, he was greeted by a woman named Michelle, who was very rude. Upon hearing that he was there to pick up an online order, she snarkily remarked, “You’re extremely early.” My husband apologized and explained that the order confirmation had said it would be ready in 15 minutes, and he added that it was no problem if it wasn't ready yet.

Soon after, a kitchen staff member came out with our order, but Michelle, in a sarcastic tone, told him, “I guess we are late on his order” while looking at my husband. My husband responded that he hadn’t said that at all; he had only stated what the confirmation indicated. If the order wasn't ready, he was perfectly fine with waiting. Unfortunately, Michelle continued to talk about my husband under her breath. When he asked her to repeat herself, she pretended not to hear him. My husband then said, “I’m not sure what I did to upset you, but you are being extremely rude, and I don’t appreciate you putting words in my mouth.” Michelle thought it was amusing to mock him at that point.

Frustrated, my husband grabbed the food and reminded her that without customers, she wouldn’t have a job, and suggested that she might want to improve her customer service skills. When he returned to the car, he was so upset that he wanted to return all of the food. I listened to his experience, calmed him down, and then called the restaurant. Whoever answered the phone didn’t give her name and seemed disinterested in hearing about what had happened.

At this point, we were both feeling frustrated, and the whole experience felt ruined. Regardless of how good the food was, the customer service we received today left a terrible impression. As people who love to travel for good food, we won’t be returning.

Hunter, if I were you as a business owner, I would consider reassessing my staff and possibly removing Michelle from a customer-facing role. She should not be taking orders or handling customers if she’s going to treat...

Not sure people really know how to add stars properly in Michigan... First, you don't comment, or leave negative remarks - and give the joint 5 stars. If you like a whole bottle of pepper on your ribs, then this is the place for you. If you don't, you might wanna skip this place. I've eaten ribs in west Texas, and they don't have frickin' pepper mills constantly seasoning the ribs, which were also overcooked. I know, because they were wrapped and left in the bag for an hour on my travels, and upon trying to eat some, found them tough on the outside. The moisture from the meat should have softened them up, but not surprisingly, the meat was also stuck to the bones. Two things that should NEVER happen with properly cooked ribs. Them being wrapped would not cause them to cook any more, so it wasn't because of that. Because they decided to put the butter in with the ribs and rolls, that melted - and my shorts are soaked. Thanks. Also, the sauces are weak - as MANY people have pointed out here. Their specialty sauce is basically vinegar with a little bbq sauce added. It's the consistency of water. I wonder if it was made that way to wash the pepper off? I don't understand why a place like this can't actually take the time and read the reviews - a few tweaks, and this place could be awesome. I contacted the BBQ joint to cater my daughters shotgun wedding (son in law joining military). Planning a wedding in 3 weeks is STRESSFUL! I called to get a quote to feed 100 people, everyone I talked to said WT BBQ would be too expensive, boy were they wrong!! Their prices for catering or for grabbing lunch / dinner is very reasonable, not to mention the food is the best bbq ever! Butch (who runs the place) & every single person on this team was amazing! Their customer service skills are top notch, they went over & beyond to help when I needed it, my entire experience was nothing but 100% positive and outstanding!

The wedding turned out much more beautiful than expected & every single guest raved about the food. I will most definitely use WT BBQ for all of our future catering needs. Its not often you find a place that has great friendly staff, outstanding customer service, and the best bbq food. This place is all of that and more! Reading through other reviews I could not help but giggle, sure there will be off. days, they are all human. This place is super clean, organized, and truly is the absolute best.

I cannot THANK YOU enough Butch and WT BBQ staff for all of your help. Keep up the good work and feeding us Michiganders with the states best BBQ! ♡ ...
