Red Rooster Bar — Restaurant in Sumpter Township

We just moved to the Belleville area and have been trying new places. This was by far the worst experience, but yet the most comical experience so far. I initially ordered online, then realized we had a flyer with a deal of getting a free breadstick. So I called and he said he would add it to our order, along with asking pizza sauce or ranch, I picked ranch. Delivery said it would take an hour, they were late, which I understood because of being short staffed probably, the covid situation and the busy and irritated sound during our phone conversation. I saw the delivery guy driving around our apartment complex and missing our building twice (you would assume delivery drivers would be more familiar with the surrounding apartment complexes). There was no order of breadsticks, but they did give us the ranch to go along with the missing breadsticks. I received one smashed in container and one bag smashed down squishing the food it contained. The fries were an odd mixture of home fries and regular fries that we as usual reheated in the oven because lets be real, fries and delivery don't mix. My husbands burger looked like a 14 year old frozen burger from McDonalds. We reheated/cooked everything because we feared food poisoning. Maybe people have a better experience dining in but we will never know as we will not be going back dining in...

Ordered pizza for pick up. Arrived before it was out of the oven. I was told it would be another 7 or 8 mins. Which I had no problem. I stepped the side and waited. It got busy, phone calls constant many people started to come in. Each of the five people that stepped into the front door are asked about their order and handed their food immediately. At this point I know for sure that my order has to be ready. As a new customer comes in. I stepped in front of him to ask about my order. The owner instantly assumes that I cut the customer that just came in and proceeds to ignore me. Saying oh she just try to cut you in line. Not knowing that I had been patiently waiting for my food before the last four people that came in. I say to the owner no, I did not cut. I've been patiently waiting. The lady at the front who is answering the phone chimes in it says yes, I have your food right here. The owner ignores the whole encounter and act as if it didn't happen and proceeds to ask the next person that comes, in their order. It's one thing to make a mistake, but his lack of acknowledgment of his mistake and lack of apology was very...

So... I don't know where to begin my review on my experience on Friday November 5, 2021. My family and I have been eating here for years. Always good service, great food. I will just begin that our waitress was TERRIBLE! She waited on us with a bad attitude to start with. Was very rude. Our food took forever and then it was cold when she brought it. She never came back to check and see how our food was or anything. Trying to get a second and third drink order was impossible. All I got to say to sum this up is.... If you are that miserable waitressing- and I do understand the restaurants are short staffed and it puts extra work on the ones that are working, but if you are that miserable and our economy being in the shape its in, I would think that you would be extra nice and courteous to ensure a good tip. I did leave her 15% tip but she could have gotten 20-25% tip had she of been the right kind of waitress. I really wanted to leave her one penny but my conscience wouldn't let me. sheesh!!!!
