Great tasting food & service. Taco Tuesdays are superb! Best deal in the valley. Also, grilled chicken salad is great, also.
I recently posted the above review, but since then, I've had a couple of issues. The cut dices tomatoes served with my meals have had a bitter rancid taste to them as if they were spoiled. The 2nd issue was the taste of the tortilla/sauce/cheese in my enchiladas. I never tasted & smelled something like this which had a rancid taste to it. The meat inside was good, but whatever the cause, it made me gag. I disassemble my enchiladas to salvage the meat. I tossed out the warm sour cream bc it didn't taste real. The chopped tomatoes on the side, again were rancid tasting. Not sure ignites an oil or something not right. My husband's order smelled the same, rancid. But he had a red chili vs. I had a green sauce. Lastly, a few times in the evening we have noticed a white foam on top of the red pico de gallo at the salsa bar. As a certified former food handler manager, those white frothing bubbles is typically not a good sign. I've only seen it occur there twice in the past month & have avoided scooping up that foam which can be caused by several things, but not worth taking the risk. My family once owned multiple Mexican food restaurants in the valley & still do have a several still operating. I know the difficulties of owning restaurants first hand as a family member. The employees really seem to care & arecr54z4 friendly. I had their basic bean tostada for the first time & it was huge & tasty. I was told that they use mozzarella cheese & not cheddar which I miss on my food. Their grilled n chicken salad is great tasting & always fresh. The mozzarella chose compliments the...
Read moreMaster Taco is a conveniently located, fair priced, and clean establishment at T-bird and 99th. The salsa bar has limited but good additions to your order, and includes green and red salsa and some pickled carrots, onions, and peppers. I had the 3 rolled potato crisp tacos (taquitos) and refried beans (tastes homemade!) special which included some chips for under $6. I think they shouldn't put the sour cream and cheese on top of the tacos as you can't cut the tacos with a fork, and trying to lift them by hand with those toppings, makes a mess. Very tasty though. I like that they use paper rather than styrofoam plates when you eat-in, but unfortunately, I forgot my own fork so had to use a plastic one--maybe they can switch to bamboo. I didn't order a drink, but it looked like they served in paper not plastic, although the water cup was plastic. Counter help could use a little more hospitality training as I smiled and greeted them rather than the other way around and I just didn't get any "We're glad you're here and happy to serve you vibes," and it never hurts to talk up the daily specials and offer help if there are any questions. Be on the lookout for days with specials to add to...
Read more1st off Let me say to have a name such as Master Taco I had my expectations extremely high naturally. So me and my wife ordered These items:
Bean and Cheese Burrito: 7 out of 10 i guess I say I guess because was it decent, yes. Was it XXL, yes! Was there enough salt no!
And Master Beef tacos: 4 out of 10 Because, The meat was not seasoned, maybe because the beef was dripping like it fell in a water cup and all of the salt soaked off.
Rice 5 out of 10 Because the flavor was not there but it's was a great texture.
Salsa Bar 6.9 out of 10
I think this restaurant was overpriced especially for what we got in our opinion.
Okay, now I realize in different areas, people are used to certain type of seasoning and salt tolerance, depending on several factors which we should know. But let me just say it anyway depending on you know, age or upbringing. I say that to say this place was not my taste, but I can see it being okay for someone who's definitely trying to watch their sodium levels. Um, this is a safe bet for you, but for me, I...
