Don Chilillo's — Restaurant in Sunrise Beach

I really had a great dining experience at Don Chilillo's (formerly Sunrise Cantina). The service was very fast and top-notch, as our glasses of tea were never empty, and our complimentary chips and salsa were the best I've tasted since my 10 years living in San Antonio, Texas! My delicious meal, called Popeyes, shown in the photos, consisted of seasoned grilled chicken topped with spinach, mushrooms, and cheese, with spanish rice and refried beans as sides, as well as 3 flour tortillas for stuffing. Also pictured is a chimichanga, stuffed full of shredded chicken, and dressed in a cream sauce. The portion sizes were very generous, and the prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was casual and pleasant, and the music was quiet enough so that people can talk to each other without having to yell. There is one room containing a nice bar, and two other rooms for families or larger groups. The staff was very friendly, and my folks and I had a great Tuesday nite dinner. Walked in - it was packed. It’s Friday so no problem. Got seated quickly. Got chips and salsa quickly too. Ordered two sodas. Waited, waited, waited….nothing. Sat for 20+minutes never saw a waiter again. Went to leave and was thanked for the patronage. I told the “manager” we didn’t even eat. Never got sodas even. She proceeded to tell us how our server had to go get their kid at home or something to that effect so we didn’t have a server. So you let your server go home on a Friday night and didn’t cover their section at all? Great customer service. She in no way apologized or tried to see if we wanted to stay and have dinner. Food was very good. I had Popeyes and it was great. The wife had a burrito and a soft chili renoe, very good. The service was terrible, the waitress couldn't understand English and couldn't answer questions about the menu. She acted like she didn't want to be there. I'm assuming that it was the manager that came to the table a couple of times to verify our order. She was very friendly and helpful. Waited for ever to get our bill and had to yell to the bar tender to get our bill. We will continue to go there when in town, because the food and deserts are so good. Hopefully they will get...
