I recently went to G Kitchen in Swampscott, and let me tell you, it was like a foodie's dream come true.
First off, the restaurant was beautiful. It was like I was dining in a gourmet jungle, with plants and vines creeping up the walls and ceiling. I even saw a monkey swing by with a banana in its hand, like it was part of the decor.
The waitstaff were also a riot. They were like culinary wizards, mixing up dishes and cracking jokes like it was a cooking show. And when I couldn't decide between the steak and the seafood, they were like kitchen therapists, telling me "Trust your taste buds" and "Just let your stomach be your guide."
Speaking of food, the dishes at G Kitchen were like a culinary adventure. I had a steak that was so tender, I felt like I was cutting through butter. And don't even get me started on the seafood. It was like a seafood safari, with clams, mussels, and shrimp galore.
But let's talk about the drinks. The cocktails at G Kitchen were like a gourmet party in a glass. I had a Moscow Mule that was so good, I felt like I was drinking liquid gold. And don't even get me started on the wine list. It was like a treasure trove of vineyard gems.
The overall atmosphere was just electric. Even the little kids were getting in on the action, pretending to be sous chefs and making their own little dishes with the play food in the corner.
Overall, I highly recommend G Kitchen for a fun and gourmet dining experience. Just be prepared to be surrounded by some of the most talented and friendly staff you'll ever encounter. And don't forget to bring your appetite for steak and...
Read moreTwo weeks ago, my wife and I stopped at Little G Market Bar Eatery for dinner and a glass of wine. Having been to the G Bar and Kitchen, we expected a similar experience of good food and wine on the lighter side. It turned out to be nothing but—a hastily put-together variation of airport nachos with sprayed-on substance and a gluten-free 1/4” sole that was meant to pass for a pizza arranged at the table with “Enjoy!”
Everything was chewy and unfresh. Service was rushed, and we were asked 4-5 times whether we’d like things wrapped to go. All this, while we tried desperately to have a conversation and finish our wine in the very loud, badly sound-insulated room.
There was a lot of wait staff buzzing around in an annoyingly rushed, random manner. Every one of them stopped by to ask to wrap up our food, one after the other!
Finally, we had enough and voiced our displeasure. The third person who came to ask what was wrong, repeated the well-rehearsed phrase, yet again: “Would you like this to go?” When the manager came, she apologized explaining that the staff was mostly trainees. I observed that this was not a fast food joint and we shouldn’t be timed once we stop chewing. Also, if this were the way the new staff is being trained, it was clear where the problem was. The incompetence and the impersonal, go-by-the-manual treatment were insulting to any kind of intelligence.
We paid and left, never to...
