Cody's Cafe — Restaurant in Swanton

The restaurant is very grimy, everything looks sticky, and I tried not to touch the table as much as I could as it looked like it had never been cleaned before. I was there for a Father’s Day breakfast, along with many other families and our waitress had the audacity to say to a busy dining room “I didn’t expect to be this busy, I didn’t think people liked fathers” the service was okay, a little bit chaotic, and I wasn’t sure if I was suppose to seat myself or not when I walked in (you do seat yourself btw) and the food was disappointing. I’ve heard great things about this place but my toast (the only thing I ordered) was burned and the French toast didn’t look very good, and my dad said it didn’t taste the best. Very confused with this place. Reviews are great so my boyfriend and I tried breakfast here a few weeks ago. We sat ourselves and when the waitress noticed us, she gave us a rude side eye and tossed menus on the table and just said “menus.” I thought maybe we were supposed to wait to be seated? First time and just passing through. I was in a rush, didn't really look at a menu, asked for a couple eggs made however, some bacon and a piece of toast to go. Dinning room 40% full. I was in and out in about 7 minutes flat. Eggs were awesome, bacon cooked perfectly. Breakfast was delicious, this will be my morning stop when passing through Swanton. Thank you for a great quick affordable breakfast. All done for under $6. Will definitely support this business...
