Irons & Ale — Restaurant in Swanton

It was our first time going on Friday. Immediately when walking in a young person at the hostess stand said “I’m new, I don’t know anything”- no “hello, I’m training today, so and so will be right with you”. Whatever, not a big deal. Artichoke dip was fantastic. Chicken taco bowl and chipotle chicken wrap both did not have chicken. When we told our waitress she took her time and brought plain chicken in bowls for us 😂 not really an issue to dump it in the salad but having my friend have to undo her wrap to add in the chicken then re-wrap at the table was ridiculous. We did not enjoy our entrees. All we got was “the salad bar girls is new, she says sorry”. Probably should have redone the wrap and took something off the bill. Too bad, seems like...

We ate here once before and had a great experience, but this last visit was awful. We saw our waitress in the back eating our food and sticking her fingers in her mouth while doing so, all while repacking the rest of our food for our to-go order. When we brought the concern to another server, they just brushed it off and packed it up like nothing happened. I’m not completely oblivious to what most likely goes on behind the scenes in restaurants, but to do it in front of customers and at this price point is just baffling. We had the artichoke spinach dip, and a burger of the week with sweet potato fries. The dip had freshly made chips. Both were really good.

You do not need a membership or anything to eat at the resturaunt.

They also do brunch on Sunday, looking forward to trying it...
