Wife and I were traveling down 70 towards KC. We were getting hungry so we were searching for food. Didn't really want the same ole restaurant. We saw a sign for Sherri Lynn's coming up next exit. Of course the selling point for me was that they served breakfast allday. I mean who doesn't like breakfast. It's breakfast time all the time. So we pulled in. Nice cozy little diner. We sat down and immediately had a waitress talking to us. We ordered after looking at the menu and the specials. Wife got the catfish meal. The fish was really nice. Very large serving. I got the breakfast. Chicken fried steak, eggs, hasbrowns, and toast. Of course I got an order of pancakes as well. The pancakes were cooked in butter, nice crisp edges and a great flavor. Really didn't need sryup but added it anyways. The gravy for the chicken fried steak had nice chunks of sausage. The eggs were perfect and the hash browns were done just right. As we were finishing up our meal the owner came by to see how we were doing, the waitress had also come by to ask about the food. In reality they don't deserve 5 stars, more like 10 stars. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to stop in again on...
Read moreWe were looking for a diner to stop at for lunch and ran into Sherri Lynn's Diner. We walked in to a very cute diner. We got to choose where we set. The waitress was very prompt taking our drink orders and giving us our menus. There was a very nice variety of choices to pick from. My husband picked the tenderloin with onion rings and I chose the BLT and onion rings. The food came out very quickly, fresh and hot. The tenderloin was huge! The BLT was amazingly fresh out was delicious. The onion rings were perfectly cooked and thick! The waitress came and checked on us several times. Then to our suprise and pleasure the Owner Melissa, whom is also the cook came out to check on us. She said this diner just opened in Jan. It's doing very well. She was so sweet. The diner got it's name after her late sister. It was a wonderful experience to know there are still small town diners where the owners care about there guests. If you want great food and experience, you...
Read moreEverything was perfect. Wait staff immediately seated us and took drink order. I ordered the Philadelphia Steak omelet. It came fast. There’s no way it was a 3 egg omelet. It looked like a 5 egg omelet. I could barely finish it. The hash browns were fantastic as well. When we were sitting there a crippled Marine walked in dragging one foot barely able to keep his balance. The owner and another waitress quickly noticed him and helped him to a booth. I thanked him for his service and ask him if everything was OK. He told me that his foot was nearly blown off by a rocket in Viet Nam when he was 19yrs old. He was on his way to Portland Oregon from Mississippi. His church did a clothing drive and he was taking a load of clothes to a homeless shelter in Portland. As they don’t get as much support there he explained. The restaurant owner bought his dinner for him. My faith in humanity has...
