Amazing food. The best and most authentic Habesha food on this side of DC. The owner is amazing. Very friendly. Why the three stars? The service. The server that's been there the past year has a horrible attitude and no energy. Of past 6 times she has waited on me its been the same. She has never broke a smile and serves each time with as much enthusiasm as a root canal. I am shocked she has survived this long. Server- if you hate your job that much then please find another. Don't pass your bad attitude off on customers. I gave her a few chances but can't take it any more. I am an easy customer. I am decisive and low maintenance and keep to myself. I at least deserve a fake smile. If you aren't worried about service then this place is a must. The tibs and kitfo are the best. However if you want a happy server then avoid. It's a mehh restaurant, tried a couple of their foods and it's just okay nothing special. They messed up my order one time tho, ordered some firfir with no tomatoes or big onions (they said okay we can do that) but behold the food got ready after 45 minutes and I was the only customer ( I believe good food takes time) but this was just disrespectful lol. The tomatoes were visible to the blind and the onions looked like they were chopped with a spoon. Went home and trashed it without taking a single bite. I gave them another chance and tried their "derek tibs" with no onions just jalapeno. That was extremely dry and was chaffing my teeth, but I still managed to finish it. They need some good chefs and active servers. Might go back again if I feel lazy to get good ethiopian food 10 minutes away in downtown silver spring or 15-20 mins away...

I love Ethiopian food, and have been ordering from here for a while since it's local to me (even thought the food is only okay), however a recent experience soured this restaurant for me.

I ordered food from here using their website, but the online hours were listed incorrectly, so when we came to pick it up they were already closed. Then we came to them to get a refund, they said they could not help us and refused to make the order we originally placed.

Additionally, the one time I ate in-person at the restaurant it took almost an hour for my food to arrive. If you eat here, make sure to order to go and through the phone so they can't scam you using...
