Do not eat at this place. i had ordered the french toast and it had come with a hair in it. When we told a person who seemed was a manager we were told that it would be remade and refunded in its whole. Mind you i had not asked for it to be remade and was ready to leave but stayed as it was quite late already and my girlfriend wanted to stay as she was very hungry as well and didn’t want to wait to go to another restaurant . When the check arrived we say that it was only partially refunded and when we had asked about it and if there was any mistake we were laughed at and told the hair wasn’t in the sides so they were charging ur for. Under normal circumstances if we had been told this we would have absolutely no issue with this but considering the circumstances and the fact that we were promised a full refund for my meal and the fact that they had laughed at us made us very upset. After we paid our bill and we’re sitting there a old white man who introduced himself as the owner walked up to us and we assume he’s there to apologize about our inconvenience but no he starts talking about how it the partial refund is more than fair and proudly states how another customers with the same issues week ago only had FIVE dollars taken of his bill. So we respond and tell him that we only asked because we were PROMISED a full refund and we’re fine paying the bill ( WE HAD ALREADY PAYED BY THIS POINT ) and how his employees laughed at us for a simple inquiry and this man accuses us of trying to play a "CON GAME" and that we were trying to get out of paying the bill. We got really upset but this point as we had been nothing but nice to this man and he repeatedly chooses to escalate the situation and disrespect us just for the sake of it. After this we call him out and mention how we have been to this establishment and other locations of canopy road cafes multiple different times with no complaint and tip 15-25 percent everytime and how we have both worked and been to other establishments where a full refund and a gift card for future purchases is issued in the case of a foreign object being found in a customers food and how our refund or the other customers 5 dollar refund is not anywhere near being "MORE THAN FAIR". After hearing this he tries to say how he’s not trying to cause and argument and how he doesn’t see how i can compare my situation with the other customers situation after he literally started of his argument by comparing our situation to the other customers. He also shuts us down by saying how he doesn’t care what we have to say and he can say whatever he likes as he is the owner.
I am sorry for this extremely long review but this is truly the worst experience i have ever had at any establishment or with a person period. This man is one of the most disrespectful people i have ever met in my life and i want people to know what kind of person is running this...
Read more(7.11.2021) I've gone here twice with my partner and both times we had an excellent experience. The second time was just this previous weekend. Overall, it's good food for your money and the staff are all really warm and welcoming.
Pros: Good food. My partner is vegetarian and is always able to find something new to try. They are also a fan of the "make your own skillet". While the biscuits were not the best ones I've ever had, they were certainly not the worst. They make my top 5 any time. Welcoming atmosphere. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the manager took care of us almost immediately. Our waitress (Edna I think?) was attentive to us, but not to an annoying point (if that makes sense). She was also very funny, making small talk with us while we ordered.
Cons: The weather outside (which, I understand is not in the restaurant's control). I would HIGHLY recommend you ask for a table inside. This Florida heat (and the flies) are no joke! The wait for any table (inside or out) will require you to have to wait for a nice chunk of time. So, even if you decide to bite the bullet and say yes to "first available (table)", be prepared to have to wait. Just a bit pricey. Take your time with the menu, especially if you're on a bit of a budget.
Overall: Highly recommend. Family friendly and the food is delicious. The staff are friendly and the ambiance of the entire place is welcoming. Just be prepared to wait for a bit and ask for indoor seating (even if it makes the wait a...
Read moreI normally go to the Apalachee Parkway location but decided to go to this one on Valentines day around 9am or so. My son (whose 3) and I went there for a valentine's day outing. The hostess noticed I had a toddler but didn't offer a booster or high chair for him. I had to ask for a high chair while my son sat at the table. It wasn't a good ten minutes after we sat down a couple came in with their toddler son and I noticed the hostess graciously grabbed a high chair for the little one. Thinking to myself, "why didn't she do that for me.?" After our meal was completed, I asked the owner for a box to store my son's pancake. He then asked the hostess to grab me a box. When she gave it to me she literally pushed it in my hand. I could've been rude to her but I took the high road. Come to find out the hostess is the owners WIFE, I found this out by my waitress. I'm thankful I had a waitress that exemplified great customer service she even apologized for the owner's wife behavior, which she didn't have to do. Let's just say, I won't be going back this location do to the lack of customer service by the owner's wife. It was meant to be a nice peaceful outing with my little Valentine and was more of an aggravated experience. It seemed to me she had a little attitude when we first walked in. I'm not one to spend my money in any establishment that treats people in this manner. I just wish she would understand the importance of customer service. Might I add my grits were lukewarm and I didn't...
