I truly hope that this reaches upper management and the owners. Last Thursday my wife and I were in Tallahassee for a very important doctor's appointment and were drove up all the way from Citrus County a little north of Crystal River, just over 3 hours. Appointment went fantastic but we were wiped from having to get up at 3 a.m. to be there by 7:45. After the appointment we had a little time to kill and we don't get to visit often so we decided to do a little bit of shopping but couldn't find ANY FSU apparel other than the highly expensive garnet and gold store. I just wanted to buy a local shirt from the mecca if you can understand that from a fan's standpoint but after 3 hours and several different empty stores I was feeling defeated honestly. Now that the picture has been painted for our mindsets walking in, this is where the 5 stars comes in to play. My wife and I are very tired, fairly hungry and just ready to be home honestly but we're not those types of people to take it out on others. We walked in, washed our hands and picked a table. Shortly after our incredible waiter came over and introduced himself, his name was Dustin ( hands down this guy is an asset and has a calling for what he does ) he asked how we were and I was honest with him and told him almost exactly what I typed from the beginning of our morning. I asked him if they sold shirts from their restaurant kind of expecting a NO but understanding that all the same as it might be a uniform thing. He took down all my information and submitted it to the manager on duty, her name was Akilah I believe and she was fantastic. She went & checked and I'm a very large man with a hard to find shirt size but some how she had it and a brand new design that even our waiter had not seen yet. Out of all my FSU shirts from being a fan since the late 80's this is at the top. I was going to apologize to for writing such a long review and I truly hope you've stayed this long to finish it because we honestly live in an often miserable world that people will write a novel on what went wrong but rarely for what went right. Today is different because a week ago was different. The food was perfect, the staff was perfect and Dustin especially along with Akilah changed my whole day around and the ride home that I was dreading was actually pleasant. We will return as much as we can, Hobbit American Grill (east) is our home restaurant in Tallahassee. We can't thank y'all enough for the hospitality and I'm ready for another shirt! Sincerely, Mike & Cherrie Sowell...
Read moreI love customer service so I called in advance a day before to place my order for my job to not put the restaurant team on short notice. The order was 150 wings to be picked up by 11:30am. On the day of pick-up I arrived to pickup the order and nothing was cooked/done. The manager on the shift the day prior did not forward the order to the next day crew, so everyone was surprised at my arrival. Neither could they find the order in the system. So because my work party was already scheduled for noon that day, I placed an immediate order and waited for the 150 wings. The kitchen crew came out and spoke with me about this issue and one of the front desk persons understood my frustration . However , there was one assisted who was very slow, didn't understand how to expedite the request to kitchen crew and treat the order as if had not called in the day before. No sense of urgency although I was aware it would take 20 plus minutes to prepare new order. Then the sauce provided for wings was not enough to cover 150 wings and I was charged additional for extra sauce, another missed opportunity. I did not leave with the wings until 12:30pm for a noon luncheon to honor a team who have sacrificed much to make our office great. I was very frustrated by the lack of customer service and then the fix/rebound was slow and missed a sense of understanding and urgency. Here's the tip and training: 1)When things like this occur, get a manager involved immediately so the everyone on the team can be aware of what's happening and need to handle. 2) Be sure of the person who dropped the ball is made aware of the issue and what is to be done correctly in the future.3) Don't charge an upset customer for extra sauce, when there was already an issue on your end. To waive the fee/price, is just a small gesture of understanding and goes along way to preventing a negative...
Read moreThis place def has some of the best wings in town, that’s all I really got when I used to come here.
Me and cousins used to come nearly every Thursday, until they stopped doing the military discounts on thursdays, but kind of got the logic behind it so I didn’t worry about it, just found another wing spot in the same area. While I do totally get the logic, I don’t like it due to the fact that I tip whatever’s covered in the discount, plus a bit more, and it made me want to come back here weekly still.
My only complaints really was that depending on who the cook is, unless you get the wings wet a lot of times recently, there wasn’t even enough sauce on the wings to cover the wings.
The garlic Parmesan wings, are the only ones I really wouldn’t ever recommend to anyone, maybe it’s just this location hobbit, but they have no flavor, the sauce they use for theirs is the only garlic parm I’ve ever had with no flavor. The honey lemon pepper was also like that but not as terrible as the garlic parm.
They often have people up front who’s clearly untrained, and they should make sure they train them properly before starting them up front by theirselves, some of them I have to break every little thing as simple as possible or I know it’s going to be messed up, it got to the point with one of the cashiers that whenever I hear her answering the phone, I ask for another person, coworkers also told me that they had the same experience with her. At this location I highly recommend checking your bag before leaving, even though it might come off as rude due to the bag being tied up and everything, but about 60% of the time I came here something has been messed up with my order. I usually just take the l since I hate driving back, but it always pissed me off when this...
