Coming from Jamaican heritage and living down south FL, where there is a plethora of Jamaican cuisine available, I was highly disappointed. The pickings are slim here in Tallahassee, and I was not at all impressed. I paid $60 for 3 LARGE plates of Curry Chicken, Oxtails and Jerk Chicken. Every plate was SMALL not large at all. The rice was sticky and tasted like the bottom of the pot, not prepared the traditional way, all I could taste was salt, no coconut milk, no scallion etc. They gave me 4 small OVERCOOKED pieces of oxtail that were cut in half, Sam’s club sells oxtails the size of my hand fyi. The curry chicken was okay. And the Jerk chicken had BBQ sauce on it, I should’ve known then not to purchase it. I’m 6 months pregnant and was craving authentic Jamaican food, I literally threw up everything 20 mins after eating. Lastly, they are charging $4 for a beef patty and $3 for CocoBread, Crosses, mi vex!!!! OVERPRICED, Overall I will NOT be returning. I would rather drive the 6 hours back home and get the real thing or bite the bullet and cook it at home myself. I’ll post a pic of the oxtails I was cooking that I purchased...
Read moreAmazing Caribbean food stand ! Fresh Food, Great Prices, Big Food Portions, Friendly ALWAYS Friendly staff, Very Clean ! I would also like to say that these beautiful women that operate this family owned business are very respectful women and very thorough when it comes to food safety and cleanliness, what stood out to me the most is how they asked me what could they fix me today and gave me time to actually view the menu, BUT back to what stood out the most to me is how the women washed they’re hands before putting on gloves and they hair was covered with food service grade hair nets BIG PLUS because most if not all the food stands around here don’t take food safety seriously ! I ask that god send an abundance of clientele they way because they deserve it 😊
I placed my hand over the food to show just how big the portions are I have...
Read moreI don’t usually read reviews often, but this was an exception. Someone recommended this spot to me and this is my first time trying the curry goat. And I am pleased to say this is one of the best, if not THE best spot in Tallahassee to get authentic Jamaican food. I was met with two very kind ladies and the service was extremely fast. The food portion is large and delicious. The curry goat was extremely tender and flavorful. I definitely recommend anyone to taste the food. I will...
