I came here yesterday morning on Christmas because dinner was being cooked so we wouldn't be able to make breakfast. I also had a really bad morning finding out some bad news. My fiance took me here to get some food in my belly and to distract me from family drama back home. I showed up teary and puffy eyed, nose redder than Rudolph's, and very emotional. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a server and they opened the door for us. All the staff yelled out "merry Christmas!!!" Then another server, or manager maybe, gave all the customers sitting at tables little bags of chocolate. It caught me off guard because of everything I hear on social media about Waffle House. It made me cry more but this time I was crying because of the generosity and kindness from the staff that I desperately needed to distract me from what was going on in my life. I ordered the special, I forget what it's called. I got the biscuits and gravy to share with my fiance. Not pictured, but I got a huge waffle and only ate half of it because I was so stuffed. Everything was so delicious, it warmed my soul. The 5 stars is for the food too but the service mostly... I was having a rough Christmas morning and they just made it so much easier for me to move on about my day and forget my drama back home. The holidays are usually difficult for me for a lot of reasons. This felt like that Christmas magic they talk about in the movies. I appreciate them working on Christmas day, because if not my eyes would've probably been closed shut from how hard I was crying... but I also hope they were able to go home and enjoy the holiday too. Thank you for making my day better, Waffle...
Read moreI absolutely love Waffle House, But I will NEVER visit this Waffle House again. I usually visit twice a week. It is so convenient for me I'm surprised that I'm not there every single day. I always get the same thing which is Bacon, Egg and Cheese on white toast with 2 extra slices of Bacon to go AND NEVER GET CHARGED THE SAME PRICE. Really I'm not Joking! Anywhere from $6.03 to $7.44. Last week the manager of the store got involved because I told the waitress that she was over charging me. The manager then added it up and said it was $6.50 not $7.44. Today the SAME WAITRESS charged me $7.44 again and when I reminded her about last week she said "I have never waited on you and I don't over charge my customers." The manager this time around which was a different one just wanted to know if I wanted it or not. I have had other dealings with this particular Waffle House in the past TEN YEARS that I've been a customer that Corporate had to get involved with, which is said to say that the waitress got fired. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I'm sure that another Waffle House would be glad to have my business. I will not give up on on Waffle House I will just have to find next...
Read moreI gave it an extra star because my daughter liked her chocolate chip waffle and OJ.
I, on the other hand, did not have a good experience. I hopefully ordered a Texas toast bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with hash browns. Ate the hash browns (all right, neither here nor there) and then discovered that they had mysteriously substituted sausage for egg on my BEC. Finally flagged down the server (quite a feat, because it looked like she was also preparing food, despite there being 7 other employees visible behind the counter, with about that many customers), who asked if I wanted a whole new sandwich, or could they just make the egg. I agreed to just the egg. Maybe ten minutes later, it finally arrived (after some questioning stares toward the grill), runny and NOT AT ALL HOW I MAKE SCRAMBLED EGGS MYSELF. Well, by this time my daughter had finished her waffle and sat, amused, watching me while I attempted to salvage my breakfast. I picked up the extremely greasy Texas toast to put the undercooked egg on the now-cold bacon and cheese, when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a hair. And not one of ours.
Oh, and the floor was filthy. Last time I'll go to...
