I ordered from this restaurant from Ubereats. Be warned that the restaurant does not care about food allergies or customer complaints. I did out of good faith call and explain that I was dissatisfied with what I received from the order and the person preparing my food disregarded my instructions when I placed the order. A lady answered the phone when I asked to speak with the manager stated I can help you. I explained the situation to lady who answered and her response back was that she herself poured the coffee. This coffee was received ice cold and her comment back was that she poured the coffee herself and that they did follow the instructions. Upon further review the meat tasted like lunch meat from a plastic package and was slimly I ordered the Cuban sandwich. It was doused in mustard and mayonnaise. I had asked for this to not be I included specifically in my instructions. I hope that in the future this restaurant can listen to its customers comments and concerns. I would suggest any customer who orders from this restaurant be warned. I apologize that I had to post on this medium however this should be...
Read moreVisiting from out of state, I was looking forward to a great Cuban sandwich. USUALLY a little place off the beaten path has the best of everything, it's where the locals eat! My family lives in St Pete. We took the trolley to Ybor City and did the long walk to Abella's. We ordered pork Cuban sandwiches. It should have been called luncheon meat on Cuban bread. It was some kind of a pressed loaf? Ham?There was even some salami slices, and I have no clue what cheese was used. I took a few bites of the small sandwich I got, my granddaughter got a large, she didn't eat half of a half , her husband ate his, but he would eat anything. We took what we didn't eat home, mine went into the garbage and my grandaughter's husband ate the rest of hers. The plates of food looked great!! It was too got for me to have ordered a meal, I wish I had. Just so disappointing for me. I now live in Alaska and can't get any Cuban food there. I did live in Miami, is that the difference? I haven't been in FL for 30 years and was really looking forward to an authentic Cuban sandwich. The whole experience was disappointing all...
Read moreI'm so disappointed with my recent experience at Abella's Cuban Restaurant. I was really craving an authentic Cuban sandwich, but what I received was far from it. The sandwich was overpriced at $12, and when it arrived, it was clear they had skimped on the fillings. There were only three small, measly pieces of deli meat inside, and the bread was only half-pressed, making the sandwich feel sloppy and haphazard.
I expected so much more from a place advertising "authentic Cuban cuisine." This was clearly just a poor imitation, thrown together with minimal effort and zero attention to detail. I left feeling ripped off and unsatisfied. Abella's does not live up to the hype - save your money and find a real Cuban joint that knows how to make a proper sandwich. One star is being generous. I won't...
