We have two pugs who just can't wait to get there every time they go. We have been using Fuzzie Buddies for years to care for our dogs and they've been fantastic. The last time we dropped them off, I had their food separated into bags (one is on a prescription diet and has to eat that or risk urinary crystals). Turned out that the food I had recently purchased from a pet store had a bug infestation which spread to both bags, which I prepared ahead of time, so by the time FB fed "the boys" the next morning they deemed all the food non consumable and threw them out immediately. They called our emergency contact person, then diligently tried to get ahold of us while traveling, and even called our vet to find out what was safe for which dog to eat. In other words, they went to great care and length to do right by our dogs. When I finally connected with the owner, she said "no problem, W/D (which is the RX food for one) is what my dog eats. We will just feed him that till you get back. Don't worry, no charge." We have boarded our dogs previously at kennels that charged for every little additional thing, especially giving medications if needed. This has never been the case at FB and our dogs get several supplements and meds. Their bedding is always clean when we pick them up if they know what time we are arriving and I usually do not request a bath for them, so they are clean enough to take them home and wash myself. I have NEVER thought they were sitting in their own waste or really dirty when we got them home, as at other places. Most of all, our dogs' behavior when they arrive there tells me what I need to know. They can't wait to get in the door and get excited when we are a couple of miles away knowing where we are headed. I have seen the opposite reaction at other places. I did read one particularly bad review below that insinuated that an "insider"/ ie, someone who used to work there, said some detrimental things that I guess I do not totally buy. Maybe a disgruntled ex worker OR someone who has the unrealistic expectation that a kennel is really supposed to be more like a hotel. After all, these are animals and to a certain extent, they prefer being smelly, or hearing barking to not. Also, there are dogs who so freak out just at being boarded they get diahrea or vomit due to being nervous. Our dogs have each other while we are gone and as pugs, they are just happy, sweet dogs so I guess they do naturally get a lot of attention. Everybody loves them. (I have even heard it said cuter, more outgoing children do better in daycare than those who are shy or surly. Not fair, but unfortunately that is the way it can be). If you have a lifestyle that predicates that you sometimes travel, if you don't want two dogs, which is certainly understandable, I would definitely occasionally take your pet for "doggie daycare" or sometimes board overnight just to acclimate your pet before you take a longer trip away. There are also herbal supplements that calm them down and make it easier for them to get over being left. At any rate, I would not hesitate to recommend Fuzzie Buddies. We love the care they give our boys. 12/10/13 - Update - recently found out our dog Buster is diabetic, requiring two shots per day. He is also in a clinical study for eye meds to hopefully keep him from going blind, which 90% of dogs do within the first year of diagnosis. We have a trip planned in January and were reserved at Fuzzie Buddies for that ten day period. When I called to give them the update about Buster's recent diagnosis and his care schedule I figured this would be above and beyond the call and they would respectfully decline to sign up for this. Instead, they have been in touch with our vet for updates regarding his condition and have heartily agreed to do what is necessary for him while we are gone. They truly care and the dogs reflect that they know they do! We are going to enjoy our trip knowing our boys are in the best of hands while...
Read moreThe reason I couldn't give 5 stars like I wanted to was lack of communication regarding what exactly 8-12 Doggie day care looked like when boarding. When I took initial tour I liked the facility. I asked about daycare with other dogs they told me the different options. So I chose 8-12 4 hrs of being outside . So she would not be confined all day and she could play until her heart was content. Unfortunately via Doggie cam she was not out of that crate until well over 10am. When I called they told me all dogs must be fed first. I didn't know that when I bought the daycare experience. My understanding was she'd be out of her crate for 4 hrs. Not anytime between 8-12 which seems to be most likely the case. They really need to make this clear to consumers. Exactly what they will be getting. Clearly communicating. But they did compensate on check out by charging for only day of daycare. Instead of 3 days. Also we told them no daycare last day because we'd be getting her early am. Well again lack of communication among staff I assume. She was given back to us soaking wet from you guessed it, daycare. The staff was pleasant enough. But they need to be on top of what is going on with each dog. And what the customer wants. Also she is slow feeder. She uses raised feeder. I told staff about this they were aware. But weird enough they put her food in her bowl without putting it in the raised feeder. I'm not sure why they would do that. It's obvious she eats in a raised feeder because as their texts said bring raised feeder if they only eat out of raised feeder so I did. But food sat on ground. As result she didn't eat one day. Could have been that. But also could have been it was first time kennel for her. Her not eating wasn't their fault but maybe if her food was actually in feeder she would have eaten something? Just seems like common sense see a feeder put the bowl in feeder. And every time I checked on her at night after 11pm lights were on in the facility. I know she didn't get much sleep maybe nerves. But by dimming lights at night that could be signal to dogs time to sleep. I really wanted to give 5 stars but because of these things I couldn't. But I will say it's clean and staff was friendly and apologetic. So this review is not to slander them but maybe more for the facility to improve on communication with each other. And customer exactly what your pet will be getting. Thank goodness for cameras otherwise I would not know she wasn't out until late. Probably would have assumed she would be out. And would have been charged . Not knowing i didn't get what i expected or was told i would get. Cameras definitely a plus. You should be able to leave your pet which to me is part of our family ,with people and given piece of mind you will get everything promised. It's about trust. It's very hard to leave your pet and hard on them as well. Just in future I would suggest have meetings on communication with customers exactly what 8-12 daycare means. And also in that meeting importance of them communicating...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: 06/25/2020 The owner contacted me and took care of all the bills in regards to my pet's care almost immediately. She was very nice and made sure that our process with our dog's care went smoothly. We didn't have to worry about expenses in regards to our dog as the owner went the extra mile for us. This has restored my hope and faith in Fuzzie Buddies. I am actually boarding my same dog in their care for the July 4th weekend. I did notify the owner about my boarding so that I can ensure that it will be a smooth and great stay for my dog. I feel reassured and hope this next visit will go just fine. Thank you, Fuzzie Buddies!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: 01/06/2020 I went here because the CEO of my company did so they have to be one of the best, right? Even their own website also claim that they are the best. Well, they definitely disproved all of that.
I made a reservation for my fur baby and sent them all the necessary paperwork such as shots, etc. and we were all booked and set. We decided to all in the daycare so she could play with the other animals on board so she wouldn't be so lonely. That proved to be fatal. They have a trial day to ensure that your pet gets along with the other ones and so we set it two days before our reservation. Lo and behold, I get a call around 1pm asking if I noticed any limping in my dog before I dropped her off and I told them that she has never limped for as long as she's been alive. They informed me that there was some wrestling and rough housing with the other dogs and my dog is now in pain and limping. I told them to immediately take her away from the other dogs and to let her sit until I got there to pick her up. Sure enough when I went to go pick her up, she had a limp - a very painful limp. She was crying to any pressure on that leg. I called and spoke to the owner/manager and let her know of my situation and that they were going to be responsible for my vet bills. I even informed the owner/manager that I was very weary of having my pet in their care and this situation got me very concerned and the owner assured me that she would be in good care. I had no choice since everywhere else was booked up and we had to leave for our trip. Our vet called back and said there was soft tissue injury and if not healed correctly, there could be surgery. I was very, very upset. The owner did pay for the vet bill as she should have since the injury happened at her business but that was about it.
We were concerned for the whole trip when we were away and called constantly to check up on her care and they "assured" us that she was doing fine. When I went to go pay and pick her up, they said they had time and gave her a nice bath. I knew it was too good to be true as I let my dog into my car, she had signs of diarrhea all over her bottom. They also charged me for "supervised care" even though they were the ones that caused injury to my dog. I would never recommend for anyone to come here and advise everyone to turn away. Please learn from my experience and do not allow them to mistreat...
