Crazy burrito authentic Mexican grill tampa — Restaurant in Tampa

Update: 7/2/2022 this is a new review years after my initial review. Still love everything about my prior experiences. However today. Sucked! $30 for 6 really bad tacos. And flavorless, We ordered 6 birria tacos. They were nothing but regular tacos served with soup. A complete misrepresentation. Do not order this style taco from here if you have tried thus style before and looking for it. Terrible.

(Old review) I love tacos!! Stopped here and was happy to see a large selection of menu items to choose from. A friend and I stopped here on a bike ride and was able to get seated right away and was offered a drink and handed menus. Drinks came and with our food order in we sat and enjoyed music and the cozy atmosphere. Food came in just a few minutes and upon first look everything was fresh and smelled amazing. I ordered asada and pastor taco, friend had lengue tacos. The meat in both was hot and fresh. Onions were crisp and cilantro fresh chopped. They make the corn tortillas in house and were fantastic. Unlike the places you receive two flimsy stale tortillas that break apart. The tortillas at Crazy Burrito come hot, with a slightly crisp edge and a pliable center. Slightly thicker than mass produced shells these have an amazing bite to them and hold together to the last bite. In a word, amazing. Each order was served with a side of addicting grilled onion. There were three choices of sauce offered at our table. One is red and has a deep flavor, a jalapeno sauce to die for if you love heat and (i think) a cilantro lime type that tasted a little like a spring day. This place is fantastic. Plenty of parking and very clean. The staff is very kind and do everything to make you a return customer. Try this place out. They also deliver through bite squad i believe. However, try to dine in, its worth it. This will forever be my taco tuesday place. And Mon, Wednesday , Thurs, you get my drift. Im looking forward to going back soon and trying a burrito. Okay, firstly my God daughter who recently graduated high school and preparing for college took me to this place. I never remember passing it nor knew anything about the joint. I felt cool just going to an authentic Mexican restaurant my God daughter frequented.

My God daughter did the ordering for both of us. She got me what appeared to be tacos in a fried shell. Three to an order. There was a dipping sauce that was really flavorful. The Spanish name for this dish eludes me, but it can't be that difficult to single it out on the menu. I had pork. Naturally, there are other options.

She also ordered an unusual beverage made out of rive milk. I think I'm remembering that correctly. That was very unique and satisfying. Unusual flavorful, but not weird tasting.

The atmosphere was very basic. The inside is very predictable after seeing the outside. But hey, you're going there for the food and a cozy setting. Not for ambiance. The service was very decent. A lovely Espanic server in a Latino restaurant. Fitting in the most respectful way.

With an luck, my God daughter will invite me there again before she departs...

Have came here a lot before. Today my son came with and ordered a cheese quesadilla. When it came out, he said it didn’t taste right and so I told the server he would rather just have a taco instead. She said “NO, this IS GOOD”. I’m like. No you don’t understand, he doesn’t want this. She refused to take it back and said she would call the police if I wouldn’t pay for it. He had taken only 2 bites of the quesadilla. I asked if she was the owner and said no. Then I asked to speak with the owner since she wouldn’t replace is bad tasting food with just a simple taco. Needless to say, I’ve never once been told by a restaurant that they wouldn’t replace something because “its actually good”. That’s her opinion. Anytime I have gotten something at a place that I didn’t like, they replace it and charge you for only the portion that was replaced instead.
