Sabine's Gout Creole — Restaurant in Tampa

I ordered 2 curry goat with white rice platters, $24, plantain fried pork sandwich, $8, and a side of fried plantains. 10/10, everything we ate tasted fresh and seriously delicious. You can tell the chef knows how to blend flavors and get that perfect flavor. Only thing I didn’t love, and ended up not eating, was the plain black beans.

Everything was so good here, we literally cannot wait to go back. We will be bringing our friends and family here, that’s when you know it’s a gem.

The goat curry was saucy and had little bones in it, those ended up in my dogs bowl. Nothing went to waste here, besides the beans. As you see in the picture, I was able to make two meals out of it.

The plantain sandwich is actually not on the menu, it’s something that they made as a special order thing at some point. We personally saw a post about it, and that’s why we came here so they ended up making it for us. It was so good, I will 100% be ordering that again.

The side of fried plantains were seasoned so well. I think it was fried in the same oil as the pork, because it had that special flavor.

The staff is so friendly, I think it was Sabine, but I’m not totally sure. I know she was in the back doing her thing though! The man at the register was also very lovely, made great conversation and answered any questions about things we weren’t sure about on the menu. I am not Haitian, and so I really didn’t know anything about that style of food since I had never had it before.

The location is a little rough… not gonna skip over that. It’s in a shopping center that has a wide variety of different foods. There were a ton of men just wandering around the parking lot, looking like they were up to no good. Not something that two women and a child really want to see when pulling up to a place, to be totally honest. When we pulled up, I immediately wanted to pull out lol and find somewhere else to eat because I really do not take unnecessary risks like that. In the end, no one bothered us and I am glad I didn't leave. As an outsider, it just doesn’t feel like a safe place to be. Please do not let it stop you from going inside, because you will not regret it.

I highly highly highly recommend ordering in advance. Give her like 45 minutes to prepare your food properly. This food is made from scratch and takes time, so don’t expect to go in and go out in 10 minutes. We ordered there and we waited about 40 minutes. I know that’s a long time, but the food was so worth the wait.

All in all, we absolutely loved her food and we probably are going back this...

First time trying Sabine's Gout Creole for lunch yesterday 9/18/21. Food was delicious and more than enough to last 2 days. You can taste the apes in her food. Call ahead before picking up your order. She was nice and honest about wait time. She accepts cash app, zelle, or cash. I ordered 2 plates of food Legume and Turkey w/gravy both came with rice of your choice, fried plantains. I ordered a side of mac n cheese (not pictured) it was also delicious. I'll post what I can of the food. *The legume pic is from a video so it will look blurry. Try it out for yourself. I would recommend Sabine Gout Creole and I will be ordering again soon. It's in a plaza with other businesses. The spot has a small lobby area enough for you to sit and wait if you walked in to order. I've tried other 🇭🇹 spots in Tampa but Sabine is the best so far. Sabine’s food is good! Really fresh and well cooked Haitian food. It gives me the feel of the food I eat when I go visit Haiti.

And talk about customer service? Since she knows she cooks well and provides fresh food daily, she doesn’t have to dish out a bad attitude to overshadow serving nasty food. As a plus, since having a very bad experience with Alez Caribbean restaurant in Orlando, I now make it a point to check out Florida’s inspection of any food place I decide to buy from. Sabine has good inspections- no dirtiness inside the kitchen that is hidden from public view, no roaches dancing around prepared food, and no spoiled and rotten food.
