Cinco de Mayo Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Taneytown

My rating has nothing to do with service, because the gentleman that helped us place our to go order was very friendly. The service is the only reason this is a 3 star rating rather than a 1 star rating.

I will admit my opinion may be different from others that are from the local area, Because I live in Texas where Mexican food is one of the primary food groups. This is my first time trying cinco de mayo. I was extremely unsatisfied with my food today. So I am leaving a review for others like myself as a heads up. I ordered 2 chicken quesadillas and queso. The queso was basically just melted shredded cheese - white cheese at that. The quesadillas were also smothered in this white shredded cheese, and had very little tomatoes and sour cream and a ton of lettuce on the side. The flavors were just not what I was expecting- and far from anything I am used to.

Everything was cooked well, nothing was over or under cooked. So overall the cooks did their job well. I guess it’s just their recipe all together I do not like.

I say this again with the understanding that this is probably how they make their food, and my opinion comes from a place that has authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex on every other corner. But I threw my entire meal away because it was just not good at all to me.

What I am getting at is; If you are from Texas - Cali or anywhere that is close to the boarder, I do not recommend this for your Mexican food craving. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Food was just okay. Carnita tacos meat was the only good part of the tacos. The corn tortillas they were wrapped in were soggy and all of the toppings on the side either looked past their freshness date by a couple of days or in the case of the rice and the beans with melted cheese on top, they were cold. My wife had a shrimp salad that was also just okay. Veggies all looked a little tired although shrimp were decent. All of that being said, it was overpriced by about 4 or 5 bucks for each meal. Won't be going back anytime soon as there are better alternatives almost as close. Just wanted to give them a try as I had heard good things so maybe it was just an off night but with higher prices come higher...

We have picked up and taken home our food four times I love the fajitas it is a very hearty meal always at least two servings . while they are still kind of new they have not gotten the orders 100% correct three out of four times hopefully this part gets better but we always check our order in the store now . also they have many online menus and they do not keep the pricing up-to-date everything cost more and I don’t mind paying for quality food but it did get my attention when the meal that I purchased was listed at 19.99 and they charged me $25 for it I think it’s on them to keep their pricing accurate on the Internet other than.
